Insights from the coolest community in town.

Welcome to our official, unofficial list of some terrific external resources about Squidoo. For beginners and experts alike, from beginners and experts alike.

Here you'll find an ever-growing list of great blogs, sites and even Twitter profiles run by lensmasters, for lensmasters. These people have created useful tools and conversations to help lensmasters rock their Squidoo worlds, make more and better lenses, get more exposure, and earn more royalties.

We (that's the SquidooTeam) can't endorse or verify everything they say, of course, but we thought you might enjoy exploring these resources that go above and beyond your everyday Squidoo experience.

To talk to fellow lensmasters, stop by SquidU.com, where lensmasters go to learn.

P.S. There's also a wealth of wonderful "how to" lenses created by lensmasters, but the purpose of this list here is to spotlight some of your favorite external sites. To see SquidooTips lenses, look here or stop by The Answer Deck.

Why gather this list?

As a way to say thanks and give a little exposure to some truly hardworking lensmasters who give back to the community every day.

As a way to let others discover several great external resources that can help you learn and love Squidoo.

And because when we posted this roundup of Squidoo-focused blogs a few months ago, we got a lot of feedback that people had no idea there was such good stuff out there. So, voila. Now, a live, active list for you to grow and vote on.

More than coincidence

As you can see, most of these blogs are maintained by well known lensmasters. Coincidence? Or are they well known because they blog? You'll also regularly find these blogs in Google Alerts for Squidoo keywords. Bonus!

Starting a blog is free, and in just 20 minutes a day, you can easily build a history and readership. Why not give it a try?

A tip about Squidoo blogging, from Kimberly Dawn Wells

Kimberly says:

"Why is blogging about your Squidoo lenses such a great way to promote them?

1. Readers love blogs because they have personality and are an ongoing relationship, so they're more likely to be read regularly.

2. Hundreds of websites are dedicated to finding, organizing, and promoting blogs. This translates to hundreds of websites dedicated to doing the same for your lenses.

3. Many of these systems can be set up to automatically notify and remind readers each time you post. It's relevant and in their face. (In a good way).

4. Systems like Google Alerts allow users to be automatically notified of new links to news stories and blogs that match their keywords. Again, relevant.

5. "If you build it they will come" doesn't apply to the internet. Talking about yourself--or other people's lenses you like--will encourage others to talk about you, promote you, and help you get found."
