Approximately a million people...
Now that you've got one and the stores are closed, what a perfect chance to start buying and reading. It becomes a cycle, though. You've been warned.
Not to fear, there's an entire section of free Kindle books here as well.
PS Linchpin has been chosen as BOOK OF THE YEAR by a writer for Toronto's Globe & Mail, and one of the best business books of the year by the Miami Herald and 800 CEO READ.

Syrup

This is book is funny and fast and insightful and addictive. And Barry has a bunch of others once you get hooked.
Hugh on the Kindle
Ignore Everybody: and 39 Other Keys to Creativity
Amazon Price: (as of 02/23/2012)![]()
Hugh's stuff works on the Kindle, and it works for creatives, and it works for people who are stuck.
Oh no, it's Panda Poet!
Panda Poet
Amazon Price: $2.99 (as of 02/23/2012)![]()
Totally addictive. Do not buy this. Do not stick with it for an hour until you get hooked. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
(yes, it's a game, and yes it's on the Kindle, and yes my high score is 2,000,000 he says with pride.)
Linchpin on the Kindle
Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?
Amazon Price: (as of 02/23/2012)![]()
If you haven't read it yet, I hope you will.
Guns, Germs and Steel
Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies
Amazon Price: (as of 02/23/2012)![]()
The title is deceptive. It's not really about any of these. It's about the achingly slow evolution of culture, and how it has changed everything about the world we live in. This is a fabulous book, a book I wish I had the chops to write.
The history of PARC
Dealers of Lightning
Amazon Price: (as of 02/23/2012)![]()
And the fact that you don't instantly know why PARC is important is reason enough to read this painstakingly researched yet fast and fun history of the Xerox PARC, the Mac, the Internet and everything.
Got some to suggest?
Here's your chance...

- Hi if I may I'd like to recommend my own book 'Drummossie' recently published on Amazon. It is a fast moving political thriller set in Scotland a few years into the future. It concerns an attempt by Scotland to leave the UK against the wishes of the UK government and results in the first major military conflict since the battle of Culloden in 1746. I've just created a lens for it with some links to my favourite places in Scotland. Happy reading!

- What about "What Technology Wants" by Kevin Kelly. I got it from you Seth when you compared it favorably with Guns, Germs and Steel.
