Have You Tasted This Wine Yet? Heard of It?

From the lens Great-Tasting White Wine : Kabinett.

So, have you had the opportunity to taste the Pieroth Blue 2008 Burg Layer Schlosskapelle Kabinett? Have you heard of it yet? Do you have a great-tasting white wine that you would recommend. I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments!

Nope, I certainly didn't have a pleasure to taste the Kabinett. Although I rarely drink alcohol, I would certainly enjoy a glass of fine white wine like this:-)

It is excellent! However it seems to be difficult to find. Anyone know where to get it?
  • Timewarp May 8, 2012 @ 12:26 am | delete
This looks familiar, I will have to keep an eye out for it, that blue bottle should be easy to spot!

it's been fun to read your lens. I like Riesling, perfect for a sunny afternoon:)

I'm not sure what the question was but a large glass of dry white wine is the answer
The restaurants of La Manga Club are superb. If I was taking you on a tour we would start with lunch at La Cala overlooking the med paddle afterwards in the sea
Dinner on the first night would have to be at La Finca - Mediterranean Food
We would have to have at least one breakfast at Amapola - the hotel restaurant and of course at least one dinner there - International cuisine with a strong Spanish flavour
Then you can choose various Spanish Restaurants, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Indian and of course a vist to Uncle Sam's for great wings and a burger - Then onto a diet.
Thank you for your lovely visit

I love a good Riesling or Niersteiner, excellent for any occasion. I will have to look and see if I can find this in the UK.

If your storage needs include both white and red wines, then you should find a wine refrigerator cooler which features dual or multiple zone temperature controls. This is especially important considering the fact that red wines should always be stored at higher temperatures than white wines. If you are willing to go through all the trouble of properly storing your wines, then you will want to make sure you store your wine collection at the correct temperature as opposed to a one size fits all approach. wine cooler

There are four major stages of wine tasting. wine refrigerator
    These are:

    1) appearance

    2) the aroma of the wine when "in glass"

    3) the sensations the wine provides "in mouth"

    4) the aftertaste that occurs, or the "finish"

I haven't heard of this wine before. In Massachusetts, we have pretty strict laws about the shipping of wine, so it's almost easier to get some of it out of state. We even drove from California with a few dozen bottles back from Napa and Paso Robles in order to get some of the best stuff back to us that wasn't available at home. Chances are this one isn't available at my local package store, but I'd like to try it!

Great SEO on your website .. not sure about some of the information. For example, you didn't mention which grapes were used in the wine.

Also, are you affiliated with PRP in any way? The are sort of like Pampered Chef, arent they, where they carry a certain line of wines, and host wine tasting parties in home for a fee to sell those wines?

I guess I'll have to add this one to the list to try...though I've yet to find one
    i didn't like! :)

I am actually not familiar with this wine. The price is very reasonable and I plan on adding it to my personal collection very soon. Thanks for the information.

I haven't tasted this wine yet, not any other German wine! I've had hundreds of different types of Napa wine though. I'd love to venture out and try something like this!
  • AndyPo Apr 22, 2010 @ 12:45 pm | delete
Great recommendation. I have had this and while I usually prefer red wine I do like a glass of something like this on a hot summers day.
  • HorseAndPony Jan 8, 2010 @ 7:53 pm | delete
I have not tasted or heard of it but I am adding it to our list of wine to try. It sounds great. Thanks for sharing.

I've been consistently ordering this wine for years, and my favorite has been the 2006. An important note is this is a wine best had with patience. Let it rest! A few months makes a world of difference. Open it too soon and it has a slight tinny taste.
This is my white of choice on any given day, and has been given as a gift often.
As for the aesthetics, I use the bottle as décor throughout my home.

I have never tried this one but I do like German wine. I have even been wine tasting in Germany - it tastes even better there!
  • MAggie Aug 24, 2009 @ 2:41 am | delete
I tasted this wine last night and it was fantastic. I am a red wine drinker and bought a whole caseof this wine. We purchased at a wine tasting party in San Diego CA.
  • Suzie-Shine Aug 17, 2009 @ 9:14 am | delete
I think that some of the best white wines come from Germany - though personally I prefer red. Don't think I've seen (or therefore tasted) the wine you are writing about.

I've not heard of this wine, but the label looks a lot like Zeller Schwarze Katz (black cat) wines, which I collect -- also from Germany, but very inexpensive. Squid Angel Blessings for your thorough wine review. I hope you do more of them!

I have not tasted this white wine yet but you make it sound so attractive. I enjoy Whites but my favorite at the moment is the Reds, particularly Shiraz. I'll have to review som eof my favorites on lenses - I'm always looking for the names of the ones I have enjoyed. Thnaks again.
