I love TED Talks

If you're interested in humanity in general, then you're going to love TED Talks.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. They hold conferences around the world, and release their talks online for the world to learn from, and to be inspired by. Imagine all the great thinkers of the world all in one room. The greatest physicists, musicians, poets, and architects, are brought together to teach, to inspire, and to share their absolute passion for their area of study.

Below, I've listed 10 of my favorite talks from the several years they've held these conferences. I posted them in no particular order. I love them all for one reason or another.

Spend 20 minutes and watch one, or take a couple of hours and learn a great deal. Either way, I'm sure you'll be inspired.

Anthony Robbins on Why We Do What We Do

Anthony Robbins has made it his life's work to figure out our reasons for living life the way we do. In this TED Talk, he explains this very well.

Joel Burns: It Gets Better

While this isn't specifically a TED Talk, TED thought it so inspiring that they placed it on their website. His video inspires, and makes a person think about what love is really all about.

Roger Ebert: Remaking my Voice

This one inspired me because of the fight that Roger Ebert fought to stay alive. He refused to give up, and he has refused to allow his battle with cancer to make him less than he is. This video shows how he is working to get his voice back.

Bill Stone: Journey To The Centre of The Earth and Beyond

Imagine putting your footprint down on something that has never known a human foot. Imagine being miles underground, days, or even weeks, from the entrance to the cave you entered. The technology required for this is incredible. Now imagine using that same technology to explore other planets. Bill Stone does these things for a living.

McMaster and Leahy Play The Fiddle

This is one of my favorites because of the absolute beauty of the music, and the passion with which they play. Natalie McMaster and Donnell Leahy grew up in the Cape Breton area of Eastern Canada, learning to play the fiddle in their respective kitchens. The music they play is unique to the region. You have to hear it to believe how incredibly beautiful it is.
