A web directory is an excellent place to add your URL and gain a quick backlink. Not to be confused with search engines, web directories are compilations of websites categorized by topic. Not only do some offer a backlink, but traffic from directories will be highly targeted!

To submit to most directories, you'll have a few easy steps.


  1. You'll have to provide your email address. Just read their privacy agreement first!

  2. Some sites may require a reciprocal link, so you'll have to add that to your site.

  3. Some sites aren't free, so you'll have to make a payment.

  4. You may be required to register for a site to submit.

  5. Web Directories often require you to pick the category you would like to be listed in. Often the link to submit will be on a category page.
