I think ole Jimi was a cool dude. I liked how he could make his guitar speak, & sing! I veraciously wish he could have lived longer, to possibly have met my son. - My son's in Nashville now, justa tappin' his little heart out - 'tryin' to hit the big time - in the U.S.A.'

Almost got to see him at the Fillmore East New Years Eve ushering in 1970 as a Band of Gypsies with Buddy Miles and Billy Cox which was, as you probably know, recorded live originally as "A Band of Gypsies" (LP). Wish I had been there (sigh......)

You forgot his memorial in Renton. Wanna picture of it?
  • Little_Rock_Jams Dec 22, 2007 @ 12:50 pm | delete
His creativity alone would be inspiration enough (If 6 were 9, Castles Made of Sand, Little Wing - the imagery in his lyrics is amazing)...

But a total innovator on the guitar that still inspires today!

Wonderful lens. I don't have enough time to read it now, but I LOVE that teal guitar listed on Ebay. Awesome that you included quotes, that would have never occcured to me to do that!

Jimmy H was nd is outstanding. One of his quotes I like best is, "You got to stop lying to the children"

    Great lens!

I didn't fall in love with Jimi until I was older. If there was ever a reason to go back in time, he would be on the top of my list. When ever I hear or think about Jimi, I can't help but think of Stevie Ray Vaughan, another legend of his time.

I think you're right on - from what I know - Hendrix was the best.

I never had the pleasure of seeing him in person, so Eddie Van Halen was always my rock god.
