The Greatest Message Ever Given And Received

Your function is to bring peace to every mind through your forgiveness, because you are the light of the world. Who is the light of this world except you, except God's Son? This statement is the truth about yourself, while to the ego, to any human being, identified with his body and limited self, it is the epitome of self-glorification. How do you take your place among the saviors of the world?

A Course In Miracles teaches you to become miracle-minded, and offers a daily mind training to unlearn your limited ideas and concepts that define what you are, and what you can do. Its lessons offer a new experience beyond concepts that is energetic, extremly joyous, and leading to real peace of mind. The lessons do not require that you believe the ideas expressed, however, to be successful you have to be willing to practice them without reservation or making exceptions in regard to their applicability. In that you meet the conditions of totality to be lifted out of this limited frame of consciousness.

With that experience goes a very different perspective on the world, in fact, A Course In Miracles is practicing another way of looking at the world. This is a pre-requisite for you to fulfill your part in God's plan for salvation. The message of Jesus is very simple. There is only one life, one source of life, and that you share with God. Everything else is your own nightmare or darkness. God, light does not attack darkness, but light must shine darkness away. Since the darkness you see is only in your own mind, you have to be the light of the world that it may be healed.

Everyone knows that there is no solution to conflict on the level that it is formulated. The solution can come only from a broader or higher perspective, through brighter ideas. Light makes darkness disappear, and conflict is literally gone.

The mind training lessons help you to momentarily stand still in a place that you do not fill with your own ideas. This leaves room for the light to come in, to heal and lift you out of your conflictual mind. When you come back, everything has changed. To do just this makes you the savior of the world. Actually, it is not a doing at all. You be defenseless, and the world, your concept of yourself, gets undone. That is you remembering who you really are. The blocks to the awareness of the presence of love are removed, and you stand naked as the blazing light of truth and life.

It is a miracle. You have the key to real freedom and happiness with you now. Will you practice using it? Will you seek help to do just that? Will you be still and listen?

That will depend only on you. Did you have enough pain? Did you have enough of pain, sickness and death? If that is the case for you, your "path" is easy, straight and fast. Otherwise this message will seem to you as a call for sacrifice.

It is only a matter of time. No one will accept pain and death forever as a part of life. Again, A Course In Miracles is for you to shorten time immeasurably.

All things I think I see reflect ideas.

This is salvation's keynote: What I see reflects a process in my mind, which starts with my idea of what I want. From there, the mind makes up an image of the thing the mind desires, judges valuable, and therefore seeks to find. These images are then projected outward, looked upon, esteemed as real and guarded as one's own. From insane wishes comes an insane world. From judgment comes a world condemned. And from forgiving thoughts a gentle world comes forth, with mercy for the holy Son of God, to offer him a kindly home where he can rest a while before he journeys on, and help his brothers walk ahead with him, and find the way to Heaven and to God.

Our Father, Your ideas reflect the truth, and mine apart from Yours but make up dreams. Let me behold what only Yours reflect, for Yours and Yours alone establish truth. (ACIM, Workbook Lesson 325)

"I have enjoined you to behave as I behaved, but we must respond to the same Mind to do this. This Mind is the Holy Spirit, Whose Will is for God always. He teaches you how to keep me as the model for your thought, and to behave like me as a result. The power of our joint motivation is beyond belief, but not beyond accomplishment. What we can accomplish together has no limits, because the Call for God is the call to the unlimited. "The Holy Spirit extends by recognizing Himself in every mind, and thus perceives them as one. Nothing conflicts in this perception, because what the Holy Spirit perceives is all the same. Wherever He looks He sees Himself, and because He is united He offers the whole Kingdom always. This is the one message God gave to Him and for which He must speak, because that is what He is. The peace of God lies in that message, and so the peace of God lies in you. The great peace of the Kingdom shines in your mind forever, but it must shine outward to make you aware of it.

The Holy Spirit was given you with perfect impartiality, and only by recognizing Him impartially can you recognize Him at all. The ego is legion, but the Holy Spirit is one. No darkness abides anywhere in the Kingdom, but your part is only to allow no darkness to abide in your own mind. This alignment with light is unlimited, because it is in alignment with the light of the world. Each of us is the light of the world, and by joining our minds in this light we proclaim the Kingdom of God together and as one." (ACIM, Ch. 6.II)

God is the Light in which I see.

"You cannot see in darkness, and you cannot make light. You can make darkness and then think you see in it, but light reflects life, and is therefore an aspect of creation. Creation and darkness cannot coexist, but light and life must go together, being but different aspects of creation.

In order to see, you must recognize that light is within, not without. You do not see outside yourself, nor is the equipment for seeing outside you. An essential part of this equipment is the light that makes seeing possible. It is with you always, making vision possible in every circumstance." (ACIM, Lesson 44)

A Course In Miracles is not meant to be a tool the make the world a better place. That is impossible, and must be forever futile. Light does dispell darkness, and not make it better. This world has nothing to do with reality. It is entirely unreal. It is what darkness is; the representation of the idea of separation from God.

Jesus did not come to make the world a better place. He came to show you a way to leave it behind, actually to take it with you, since it is the projection of your mind. He said, He came to save the world. And that must be accomplished already. How often did he say something like "the time will come, and is already now"?

It is all already over. If I find myself still here, it can only be to be the light of the world with Him. For this moment. In that I am saved and can give it.

Close your eyes upon the world you see, and in the silent darkness watch the lights that are not of this world light one by one, until where one begins another ends loses all meaning as they blend in one. The lights of Heaven bend to you.

Angels light the way, so that all darkness vanishes, and you are standing in a light so bright and clear that you can understand all things you see. A tiny moment of surprise, perhaps, will make you pause before you realize the world you see before you in the light reflects the truth you knew, and did not quite forget in wandering away in dreams."
