Types of Golf Bags

The first type of bag is the carry bag. These are used when you want to walk the golf course and not use a buggy. They are also carried by caddies, if you have one. These bags are made light and constructed from materials like plastic, nylon and canvas. The aim with a bag like this is not to carry to much equipment and so they are usually kept small and simple. You'll be able to carry your clubs and a little bit extra but not much else.

If you want to use a golf cart on the course then a cart bag is ideal. They are purpose built to be carried by the cart and so shouldn't be used if you want to walk the course. These bags are larger and carry much more equipment than a carry bag. You'll be able to fit your clubs, tees, balls, towels, shoes and drinks inside.

A professional golf will use something called a staff bag. These bags are extremely large and will carry everything - including the kitchen sink. You can have up to 14 clubs in a bag like this. Despite its capacity, they are designed to be carried by a caddie but non-professional golfers usually use them on golf carts. If you are looking to have a bag that carries a lot of equipment and accessories then a staff bag is a good option.

Great bags. For new players and old pros, it's important to protect your golf clubs. A great bag and something like ClubzUp (www.clubzup.com) will help ensure you don't damage or lose your clubs.
