Sure, like all holidays, Mother's Day is way too commercialized. It's not as bad as Christmas, but the greeting card companies, flower shops and gift basketeers have persuaded us that we do not love our mums unless we shell out coin for lavish gifts, or at least a $5 card. So, yes, it's overcommercialized, but you know what. I still think mum deserves a special day. It's a thankless job a lot of the time, so, so what if we take a moment and spend a little money to show how much we care!

Life is sooo busy, we all need that reminder to show Mom how much she means to us. So often we do not take the time to even say those 3 simple little words "I Love You" and Thanks.
As a Mom myself, I like the creativity it pulls out of my children when they express their feelings with a gift.

Hehe, and here's my "no" say. Why, if we are good and appreciative children in the first place, do we need to go out and spend money to prove our love to our moms. It should not be a "required" thing to give a gift and one should not be thought completely unappreciative if no gift giving takes place. Quite the contrary, the most important thing we can do for our mothers is to love them and show them every day that we care for and appreciate them. Tell them that on a regular basis throughout the year, because they will love it and they deserve much, much more than a single day and a forced gift or card!
