Greek Pizza Dough Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups of bread flour (you can also make use of an all purpose flour)
- 1 envelope dry yeast
- ¼ cup of cornmeal
- 1 ½ teaspoons of salt
- ½ teaspoon of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of Greek oregano (chopped)
- 2/3 cup of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of Greek olive oil
Instructions
First thing to do is to preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Then, mix everything and knead thoroughly until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough using a towel and place it aside. Let it sit until it doubles in size.
After that, roll it out once more and form a round shape. You can now add in the toppings you wish and do not forget to sprinkle olive oil.
Bake it in the oven until the crust becomes golden and the cheese has melted.
Greek Pizza Dough Recipe with Greek Toppings
Greek Pizza Toppings
Ingredients
- 1 pizza dough
- 2 cloves of garlic (chopped finely)
- 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- ½ piece of red onion (sliced thinly)
- 1 bunch of spinach (8 to 10 cups; with the stems taken out and the leaves rinsed)
- 6 pieces of Kalamata olives (pitted and chopped coarsely)
- 1 ½ cups of feta cheese (crumbled)
- 3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 ½ cups of mozzarella cheese (grated)
- Garlic oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
Take out a pan and heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Then, add in the following ingredients: red onion, salt and pepper.
Sauté those for 5 minutes over medium heat until the onions become tender. Add in the garlic and sauté for another minute.
After that, place it inside a bowl. Take out the olive oil that was left and heat it in the pan. Add in the spinach, garlic, salt and pepper and cook it over high heat until the spinach wilts a bit but still bright green in color.
Then, take it out and strain it. Place it aside and allow it to cool.
Make sure that you drain the excess moisture before chopping. After chopping, pour in the lemon zest.
Meanwhile, heat the oven to 500 degrees. Then, get your pizza dough and brush the entire crust with garlic oil. Add in the onions and spinach and spread those evenly on the crust.
Sprinkle the olives, feta cheese, as well as the mozzarella cheese. After that, put the pizza inside the heated oven and let it bake until the crust becomes crispy and golden. Once done, take it out and sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and the rosemary as well.
