Apple Introduces The Green Macbook
Apple has launched their new environmentally "green" MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air which are all now PVC and BFR-free.
What chemicals are PVCs and BFRs? Well, PVCs (polyvinyl chloride) release dioxin, a known carcinogen, and BFRs (brominated flame retardants) are reproductive and developmental neurotoxins that build up over time in the human body. The substances put workers and recyclers at risk during the production and discarding of products.
Kudos to Greenpeace's "Green My Apple" campaign, which called on Apple fans to encourage the company to remove toxic substances from its electronics.
Other chemicals Apple has reduced/removed from their products: lead, arsenic and mercury to name a few...
Will Dell, HP and Toshiba follow Apple's lead and make computers less toxic? Time will tell...

- I was just thinking I wanted one of the new MacBooks, but my MacBook Pro is of course just fine. Now I have a good reason. The power saving alone is worth it. When will the entire Mac line go green?
