Grow Your Own!
Growing your own fruit and vegetable is fun and economical
Growing your own fruit and vegetable is very rewarding. With just a few seeds, a patch of land, and some time, you can put some food on the table for all of your family. With a little initial planning it's not difficult to see some really good results. Take a look at my top 5 tips for growing your own, then go and buy some seeds! Top 5 tips for planning your vegetable garden
2. Check out the prices of vegetables for the items you'd like to grow. Then choose those that cost the most in the shops. It might not be worth growing potatoes or onions (on the basis of saving money) as they are so cheap to buy.
3. Don't get carried away when ordering your seeds! Stick to the list and don't buy too many different varieties. You don't want to make your first season too hard!
4. Try and pick a range of vegetable crops to provide you with food throughout the year, rather than having a huge glut of food to consume in August, but nothing in September!
5. Make sure you can provide the right conditions for the vegetables you want to grow. If you live in an area with a cold climate, or on an exposed site some crops might be more suitable than others. All of this information is easy to obtain from the seed retailer.

From the evidence I've read, it seems we're all to blame. I think we should try and be greener and make better choices about what products we use and how much energy we consume
