"Green Home" Benefit For Haiti

Family Health Ministries, Inc. is a local charity in Durham, NC, that provides international support to many communities in Haiti. 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the ministry. The supported communities of Leogane, Fondwa, and Port-au-Prince were all affected by the earthquake that shook Haiti on January 12, 2010.

Fondwa lost it's school. The orphanage there is still standing, but needs repair before the children can return safely. The clinic facility in Blanchard, near Port-au-Prince, sustained little damage, thankfully. The staff there provided critical care to the community. They are an inspiration. In Leogane, the 2nd floor of the clinic collapsed, but the 1st floor remained intact. The clinic reopened in April.

An evening of Cabaret was presented as entertainment to benefti Family Health Ministries. Ellen Ciompi and Glenn Mehrbach performed "The Arc of a Love Affair" that highlighted tunes from Gershwin and many other show tunes. The evening was enjoyed by all in attendance. Wish you could have been there.
