Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half Marathon
This marathon replaces the Las Vegas Marathon. And the race course will be different from the former Las Vegas Marathon, Race date: Sunday, December 6, 2009. Organized by Elite Racing and sponsored by Zappo's. Register online.
Las Vegas Great Santa Run
More than 6000 Santa's showed up to run the 1K and 5K races through downtown Las Vegas on December 6, 2008. All proceeds go to Opportunity Village, considered to be Las Vegas' favorite charity. The 2009 race is Saturday, December 5th (the day before the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon).

Kiehl's Badwater Ultramarathon
Death Valley National Park is the hottest, driest, lowest place on earth. This Ultramarathon is the "most demanding and extreme running race on the planet" -- 135 miles (217km) non-stop from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, CA in temperatures up to 130F (55C).
Nevada Passage Adventure Competition
A made-for-TV event featuring 10, two-person, coed teams paired by profession. Teams compete against each other in four events, covering about 1,000 miles of the most spectacular terrain that Nevada has to offer. (As of May 1, 2009, website has not been updated for 2009)
