Green Monster Bride child's Halloween Costume

Ranked #24,089 in Holidays & Celebrations, #360,918 overall

The Perfect Halloween Costume for you child this year!

Is you daughter in the in-between of childhood and adolescence? If so, you will be hard pressed to find a Halloween costume that is not too "childish" for her tastes and she will be hard pressed to find a Halloween costume that is not too "adult" for your tastes. Sounds like another one of the mother-daughter struggles about to happen.

This costume is just right for that in-between age. It's creepy, but not scary; it's cool and not silly; and it will make your daughter look like she is ready to become an adolescent without dressing her up like a sex goddess or makingher out to be a gothic goddess. This costume has everything you ever wanted and the look is, as Goldilocks once said, "just right!"

Customer reviews

Accessorize your costumeAfter reading all 61 reviews of this costume, there were 37 reviews that were favorable. These reviews all stated that they would buy this costume again and were satisfied with the outfit. Of the remaining 24 reviews, the comments seem to fall into specific complaints.

1. The costume was sized small--this was split between the pluses and minuses. Some say sizing was correct and some say sizing was small. When buying any item of clothing online, it is always a good plan to visit the site and use their measurements for sizing. A measuring tape applied to your child before you buy can eliminate this problem.

2. The hat was crushed and did not look like the one in the picture--Since the hat is made of fabric, I would think you could stuff the crown with crushed paper and use spray starch to stiffen the brim. If necessary for shaping, you could cut thin cardboard (think cereal boxes) in the size of the crown and glue into the hat to make the form. Simple, easy fix.

3. The ties in the back came off--I think this may be related to sizing, but if not, you could get a tube of fabric glue at the hobby store and reattach these ties if you really need them. I'm not really sure if they are absolutely necessary after reading all the reviews.

4. The back of the costume closes with two velcro buttons--This concern was stated several times, but most of the commenters found their own solutions. Since we are talking about evening in October, most people solved this problem by putting a long sleeved t-shirt under the costume for warmth. Some commenters pinned or sewed the back, but that seems unnecessary for a one event item.

5. The last remark was that this costume would be better if all the parts came with it. Granted, that would be nice, but I haven't ever found a Halloween costume that came with everything you need to complete the look. You want to make your own statement, anyway. So accessorized according to your and your child's taste.

Overall, this costume is perfect for that between girl. She can look a little scary, a little campy, and almost grown-up while she enjoys collecting all her Trick-or-Treat candy! What do you think?
