My Personal Review of Green Street Café

As a natural foods vegetarian foodie, Green Street is one of my favorite restaurants in Western Mass. The ingredients are always fresh, in season and often organic; the flavors are always delectable; and the ambiance is comfortable (especially in the winter when you are seated next to the fireplace).

My husband and I love cheese. I'm not talking what you get at the grocery store; we love cheese picked up at the gourmet specialty shops. The stinkier the better. :) So, we start with the cheese selection and a bottle of red wine.

I always order the wilted spinach salad with parmigiana reggio before the main course. Best. Salad. Ever. I crave this salad all of the time.

Green Street Cafe has a lovely selection of vegetarian meals. I'm a bit adventurous and usually get something different each time I dine there. I'm never disappointed.

There is, of course, plenty of choice on the menu for meat eaters, too.

The pots de creme is our favorite dessert, and because it is so good we rarely try any others. I just can't help it; it's so rich, chocolate-y and velvety, and the homemade whipped cream is the perfect compliment. Oh, the coffee's even great.

If you're ever in Northampton, Ma, I highly recommend Green Street as a place to dine.

Green Street Cafe Reviews

Don't just take my word for it...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Everything at Green Street is organic and totally delicious.

I have never had a negative experience at Green Street, and neither have I heard anyone complain about it, which is saying a lot, considering that Green Street Cafe is literally a couple feet from Smith College (I kid! Smithies don't complain at all! ever!).

The vibe is laid back and bohemian, but they are serious about the food here. Everything is very fresh and tastes like someone really put effort it cooking it. Menu varies by season, so go lots! And don't wait around for a special occasion or for someone to pay for your meal. Rumor has it that the entire Green Street strip will be knocked down in order to make room for a new science building. So go sooner rather than later!

Deliciously Casual

Green Street is a restaurant with delicious food in an eclectic and funky environment. The wilted spinach salad is simple but tasty and the caramel tart with the rosemary creme freiche is an amazing dessert. Amazing. In fact, I have yet to have something at Green Street that I didn't like.

If you're a fussy diner, you may find some issues with the service. In keeping with the casual environment, the servers give you space to enjoy your food and the company you are with. This is the way I prefer to dine but I know this is not the case for everyone.

very special in NORTHAMPTON

Green Street Cafe is the one restaurant outing that I accomplish without fail whenever I visit Northampton. As a former Northamptonite, Green Street Cafe is the one restaurant outing that I accomplish without fail whenever I visit Northampton. As a former Northamptonite, I have been a Green Street enthusiast for years. And when I'm away I sometimes miss it, even with all the food options in nyc. There is nothing about the place that I don't enjoy---and, yes, that includes the maitre di! He is a charmer as far as I'm concerned. As far as the food...A++ always delicious comforting and seasonal. I was just there and had the chicken with peaches and sage--a classic, so delicious. Yummy chocolat pudding pot for dessert and you can't really go wrong. And on top of all that the dining room is a beautiful, romantic and very relaxing place to linger and enjoy. If you haven't tried you should it's a special place.

Likewise, I go to Noho occasionally. We'll have to meet up some time at Green Street Cafe! I like to go to a Jung lecture at Smith College held once a month. This restaurant looks great! I'm assuming it escaped the recent fires.
