Green tea is a natural Japanese beauty product that doesn't cost much and has health benefits to boot. What's not to like?
The Japanese have been drinking green tea since ancient times but it has now earned a reputation worldwide for its beauty and health properties. It is said to lower cholesterol, aid in weight loss, minimize tooth decay, prevent heart disease, and fight free radicals promoting younger-looking skin.
I drink Japanese green tea more than three times daily and have been doing so for more than fifteen years now for the primary reason that it relieves me of stress. It's become a habit and I like the natural, fresh taste so much better than regular tea anyway so the health and beauty benefits of green tea come as a bonus. Does it work? Well, I'm well over my thirties but, modesty aside, I still often get mistaken for being in my twenties.

Gyokuro (Jade Dew)
Gyokuro tea is regarded as the highest grade of tea made in Japan and are made only with the limited first flush leaf in order to achieve a rich flavor with a delicate, pale lemon-green color, hence its name. The leaves are grown in the shade before harvest. It is generally sweet and is perfect as a light evening tea.

This stuff is truly what a green tea is all about. Very dark greenish bluish color with a strong pleasant aroma. The taste is pure and fresh and simply tastes like "green tea" and not grass. It only takes about 90 seconds steeping time and the brewing temperature just under boiling point. The color of the tea is a very bright clean looking green which tastes as good as it looks. Sencha (Roasted Tea)
Sencha is the most common green tea in Japan. It is made from the first and second flush of green tea from leaves that are exposed directly to sunlight. The name describes the method for preparing the beverage.

This Matcha is 100% from Japan and Ceremonial Grade. I bought it during managers special at almost half the price and was astounded at the quality. Same as the 5 dollars a cup matcha I had when I was in Tokyo. This stuff makes like 30 cups so you can do the math.. it's a great value! Because it is such a high grade .. it isn't bitter. Bancha (Coarse Tea)
Bancha is made from larger leaves than are usually available for sencha grades. It is a lower grade of Sencha and is harvested as a third or fourth flush tea between summer and autumn. Bancha usually lacks the delicate sweetness of quality sencha but is well respected because of the its vivid yellow color and deep flavor.

Kukicha (Stalk Tea)
Kukicha is a tea made from stems, stalks, and twigs of gyokuro and sencha, processed to an emerald leaf and pale green blend. It has a mildly nutty, and slightly creamy sweet flavor. For Kukicha, the thinner and less green the infusion; the higher the quality of the tea. This variety is rarely seen outside of Japan.
