Steps can Techniques for brewing a nice green tea
green tea recipes
Nowadays, people are very mind with their expenses. Everyway need money. Sometimes it is very irritating if we purchase a thing that finally come out revulsion, or even worst NOTHING!So, in this glorious day I would like to share the secret of green tea. Green tea is a wonderful beverage with potential health benefits. But if you're not familiar with a few basic techniques, you can wind up with a tea that's grassy, bitter, or just too strong. Here's how to get a perfect cup of green tea:
There are steps and techniques to brew a nice and healthy even appetizing green tea. Usually as normal, the way we convey to brew tea just only pour in boiling water and insert some dry tea plant into the cup. However, these SIMPLE steps just can only make up a plain and normal tea. Actually tea are very sensitive to temperature, a slightly change in temperature will definitely affect the taste of a cup of tea. Besides, tea are also very susceptible to the volume of boiling water. An optimum volume is very important for brewing a nice tea. So, in order to brew a nice tea, a few of important steps should be carry out.
STEPS and TECHNIQUES
1. Determine how many cups of green tea you want to make. The original guideline for brewing is one teaspoon (5 ml) of green tea leaves (or pearls) per one cup of water. This will yield one cup of brewed tea.
2. Measure out the desired amount of green tea leaves (or pearls) and place them in your tea strainer or sieve.
3. Fill a non-reactive pot or pan (glass or stainless steel) with water and heat it to about 180 °F (80 °C). You can use a candy thermometer to watch the temperature, but if you don't have one, then keep an eye on the water so that it doesn't boil.
4. Place the filled tea strainer or sieve into an empty mug.
5. Pour the heated water into the mug, over the tea leaves.
6. BREW time%u2026 Steep the tea leaves for 2 - 2 1/2 minutes but not any longer, or else your tea will become bitter. Generally, two minutes is all it takes Any longer, and the taste may becomes too bitter. Also, it's very important to NOT stir, shake, or mix the tea.
7. Let your tea cool a few moments and enjoy your perfect cup of green tea.
CAUTION!
NO THIS!
STEPS SHOULD NOT FOLLOWAs i say tea are very susceptible to water temperature so the main biggest mistake you can make with green tea is to steep it in water that's too hot. Green, white or silver teas are different from black teas in that they need water that's only about 180° to 185° (80 °C to 85 °C).
The second biggest mistake is to steep for too long. Green tea shouldn't be steeped for more than 2 to 2 1/2 minutes. White or silver teas should be steeped for even shorter periods--a minute and a half is usually perfect.
Reasons your GREEN TEA DON"T turn GREEN:
1. You brewed it too hot. If you brew it too hot, it will become bitter. This is probably the most common of all mistakes, and one which has the most influence over the taste. Depending of the variety of green tea, it should be brewed around 175 degrees F, give or take 5 degrees.
2. You started off with old green tea. Green tea, "when properly packaged", has a shelf life of about 6 months. Once opened, you have about 2-3 months to use it. That's for properly packaged (vacuum packed or nitrogen packaged) tea - If your green tea wasn't packaged properly and is exposed to any amount of air, it probably was never good to begin with.
3. Your green tea was from a late harvest. It's no big secret - the best green tea comes from the first harvest in late April, early May. You can get this throughout the year, however.
4. You brewed it too long. This depends on the variety, but generally speaking, no more than 2 minutes.
5. You used too much tea. This is where you have more room for adjustment. Again, it depends on the variety, but for normal sencha, about one teaspoon to 8-10 ounces of water. For one type of tea, you may have to use an even level teaspoon, and for another a heaping teaspoon; it will vary from tea to tea.
6. You didn't use enough tea. For example gyokuro, you won't get good results unless you use double the amount used for sencha.
7. You didn't start out with good water. You need good water.
8. You tried to use a tea ball or paper filter. Green tea is compact. Once you brew, it really expands and needs plenty of space to open up.
9. You tried to use a 2 liter English Teapot. If you really know what you are doing, it is possible to use a Western teapot to brew green tea. However, you would be way better off using one designed for green tea.
10.You started of with low quality tea. Even in Japan, the quality levels of green tea vary considerably. Just because it's from Japan doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
