Green Affiliate Opportunities

If your heart has any sensitivity to the rhythms of our Mother Earth, like me you may often find a heavy sadness in your soul at what we humans have done to her. That it seems we may finally be "turning a corner" ~ making increasingly collective efforts to tread more gently and perhaps someday re-attain a symbiotic unity with her and the rest of her children ~ is a too-often inadequate consolation when we realize the full impact of the damage we've done so far. It's easy to think humanity's destruction of our environment is a relatively recent act, corresponding with the advent of the Industrial Revolution, but this is just not so. The truth is we've been leaving a history of destruction in our wake nearly everywhere we've trod for thousands of years. Probably no people or culture is exempt.

Just one example ~ and a fairly recent one in the grand scheme of things ~ can be seen in the case of New Zealand. When the Maoris landed there about a thousand years ago New Zealand still hosted many species which we typically think of as "pre-historic", not to mention many more forests than it does today. But within just a few hundred years of the Maoris' arrival many of these species had been brought to extinction and much of the forest had been leveled.

This example is not given to berate the Maori people or culture in any way. On the contrary, we all ~ all cultures and peoples ~ have had (and continue to have) our fair share of "Learning Experiences" . . . each leaving our own unique trail of destruction. But with the extinction of the Great Eagle and the Giant Moa, and the massive razing of New Zealand's forests, the Maoris ~ albeit at great cost ~ heeded the Call of their Hearts, embraced the lessons of their Learning Experiences, and began walking a path back to Harmony with the Land.

All lessons exact a price, so let us pray that we, like the Maoris, learn the appropriate lessons, embrace them, and take action accordingly, well in time for us ~ in keeping the Holy example of our Ancient Ancestors of Old ~ to turn the tide and create a New Path ~ a Path of restoring our Mother, the earth, and living in Harmony once again.

The Good News is . . . it's already happening! We all know this. Whether motivated by a sincere upwelling of spirit or by political and legal pressure, humanity as a whole is rapidly waking up to the reality that we need to turn the tide. The question is ~ will we turn it fast enough? And will it be with enough fervency to gain the critical mass needed for the earth to be restored to Holiness and Purity? Time will be the judge, but whatever the outcome, it's encouraging to see this movement and be living in its midst.

Even more exciting . . . the good news doesn't end there! The Wheel of Trade Medium (see our Squidoo Lens at www.squidoo.com/Money-and-Trade) has circled around again such that each of us can do more than just observe this movement with excitement while we cheer from the sidelines. The Wheel's Turning now affords each of us the ability to roll up our sleeves and take action . . . each in our own unique way . . . each to the measure of what we're able.

So now the Choice is Ours.

Will I do my part?

Will you do yours?

And more good news . . . perhaps the best of all . . . the action we take does not have to be purely an act of charity. I'm referring to opportunities in which each of us can engage to help heal our Mother while sustaining ourselves and prospering. Upon reflection this makes sense, for Living in Harmony is NEVER just a one-way street, but always ~ ALWAYS ~ a mutually-beneficial exchange.

So the purpose of this Lens is to introduce those opportunities to all who are ready to Answer the Call. "Green Affiliate Opportunities" is and always will be a continuing work-in-progress, and we appreciate anyone who brings to our attention opportunities of which we may not yet be aware.
