There is nothing like the taste and aroma found in a hot cup of coffee that is made from freshly ground coffee beans. You have shared nice information here. Thanks!

For many years I have drunk home roasted coffee. Like you said above- The Crack! I love that crackling sound, and the scent that fills the air. I often roast cinnamon sticks with my coffee beans, before I grind or pound them.In Ethiopia, where I used to live, nobody has heard of instant coffee, everybody roasts the coffee at home.

That vacuum siphon looks cool. About when will you know when the coffee beans are at their optimal roast? Are there any combo setups with coffee makers? I know some machines brew and grind the beans too.

I love coffee - usually drink 3-4 cups a day. Now they say it's good for the memory and fights against Alzheimer's. Fortunately, I can handle it without getting the shakes. You have a lot of great info on this lens that I didn't know about coffee - great work! Angel dust for you!!!

I received a Zach and Dani's gourmet coffee roaster for Christmas and I am loving it. It has a smoke removal system but don't count on it when doing a dark roast. I now set the roaster on the stovetop and run the exhaust fan. Works Great! Tastes even better.

Great Lens! My husband has been roasting our own beans since last year. After melting a popcorn popper, he nowuses a Milwaukee MHT 750 paint gun, and a large stainless steel bowl. Using this method, best results are obtained using about 3 cups green beans at a time.

As a coffee lover that has spent way too much at Starbucks and other gourmet coffee places you have sold me on the idea of trying to roast my own beans.

This will also give me an opportunity to explore the color of the different roast and include in my blog at http://www.sensationalcolor.com
