Going Green - The Changing Landscape of Retail

This is our first lens on Squidoo. We'll be doing everything from sharing our favorite new products that we come across to explaining our product selection process to just simply talking about family life as this business develops. We hope to find a lot of like minded people out there that can share with us as well.

Having a second baby when our first is in middle school completely changed our perspective. We saw an entire industry change as we registered at the big stores for the new baby shower. We are still on the outer edge, I think, of having a good selection of organic and healthy products available wherever you go. It's interesting that the market is being driven by so many other factors now. So much in terms of organic and healthy living is visible in blogs online and in the "hip" shows on cable TV...and even in Hollywood.

A dozen years ago you couldn't find organic cotton blankets and baby hats. And video monitors so easily available?? Ok, not organic, but quite a surprising change. We're fascinated by this "changing landscape" of retail. We hope to be very involved with helping this positive tide along. Businesses are caring about their environment, giving back to those around them, and let's hope...thriving.

Well...here's a little bit of proof, and also a shameless plug for what we consider the best dog ever. This is Stewart enjoying his new SimplyFido organic cotton bone. We figured the way Stew likes to chew, lick, and gnaw his toys, he really ought to have something without all the chemicals added.

Stew is normally really hard on toys. One Christmas he went through two toys in about 10 minutes. We usually have to buy him the "tough" dog version of pet toys, but the bones from SimplyFido seem to be holding up quite well.
