Green In The Kitchen

Ranked #14,186 in Home & Garden, #194,369 overall

I Love Green

And I don't just mean green in the sense that I am "going green". While that is important to me and I try to make whatever changes I can to improve our planet - I also really just like the color green. I can't remember a time when I didn't. So much so that when you enter my kitchen, you're not going to have a question as to whether or not I like green. And lately it has become so easy to find all sorts of cool kitchen hardware and software (I mean pans and tablecloths, not CPU's and CD's) that I just can't stop myself.

Where Do I Start?

In my kitchen the green theme came naturally to me as I had decided to display some palm trees there. I selected a dark green countertop and one dark green accent wall, but as you can see in the photo here, it is just as beautiful when done just the opposite. Pristine white cabinets offset the vivid green of the walls in this kitchen beautifully! Once you have the bones of your kitchen done, it's time to shop for the cool stuff!

Cloth Napkins Are Green

In More Ways Than One

I love cloth napkins and use them almost exclusively when I have dinners. I love the look of them - they can class up even the simplest table settings. And, I love that I can use them over and over and over.

Honestly, I am really loving that picture of the darkish green walls. No blarney, either!

Hey, doesn't look too bad, of course I remember the avocado appliances in the 60/70's LOL

My husband and I are beginning our kitchen renovation and I am set on green countertops, not just green but an almost lime green. I have seen the exact color at a friends grandparents house and I love it! Can you point me in the right direction as to where I would look. Factory seconds and refurbished are all right to. Thank you.

And, Check Out These Other Great Colors Too!
