Meet Bee the Greeter

Hi, I'm Bee, one of the newest batch of Giant Squid Greeters. The Greeters are here to welcome new Squidoo-ers and help lensmasters with any Squidoo-y issues they may have. We're also available for cheerleading, mentoring, answering general questions, and catering special occasions. We all look really spiffy in white shirts with cummerbunds and bow ties (don't tell anyone, but that's the main criterion they use for choosing Greeters).

Welcome to Squidoo

You are here.

Think of Giant Squid Greeters as Squidoo's own Welcome Wagon (I hope that doesn't date me too much). We want to help new lensmasters feel comfortable with lensbuilding and the SquidU forums. Lensmasters become Greeters because we want to share our knowledge with other lensmasters. We want to give something back to a community that has been so generous with us. Greeters have a strong sense of Squidoo community and want to make it even better.

Lenses to Help You Get Started

Encouragement

Gimme an S! Gimme a Q! Gimme a U! Gimme an I!.......

Squidoo can be overwhelming sometimes. For a new lensmaster, there are lots of new terms to learn, a gazillion hints to help a lens get more traffic and much more. Everyone learns at his or her own rate, and there are no exams here that you have to pass. But it seems like a LOT of information when you first start out. Greeters can help you navigate the maze of how-to lenses and strange new words. We can remind you that every new Squid felt this way at first. We're here to listen to your frustrations and offer a word of encouragement.

When you're struggling to attain a goal, we're here to keep you focused, whether that goal is to make a great Christmas lens or to become a Giant Squid by finishing 50 really great lenses. All you have to do is ask. We're here for you.

A Few More Helpful How-To Lenses

May We Help You?

Perhaps a little tutoring?

We Greeters have been around long enough to have figured out a few things about how Squidoo works. Are you confused, totally baffled or just need to know where to find the nearest restroom? We can probably help you with MOST of your questions. If we can't help you, I'll bet we can find someone who will know the answer to your question.

Lenses that Might Answer Some of Your Questions

We are Hunters

Think of us as the Fairy Godsquid Squad.

Greeters are always on the lookout for potential Giant Squids. We flit around Squidoo reading lenses, searching for those lensmasters that might have what it takes to become a Giant Squid.

When we see a Squid that we think has real Giant potential, we'll drop by a few of that person's lenses, leave some comments, and usually offer our assistance. You can take it...or not.

You don't have to wait to be tapped by a Greeter to get our help. Contact any Greeter, and ask for guidance. If you don't click with your first Greeter, try another one. We all have different styles.

I really like saying "squid squad." That's fun!

Catering

Just kidding. We don't cater, but we really DO look good in bow ties.

What's All This About Mentoring and Giants?

Hi, I'm Bee

I've been having fun as a Squidoo lensmaster since March of 2008. I love to experiment with food and recipes and have lots of food lenses to prove it. I was honored when my Halloween Eyeball Recipes lens was chosen LOTD. When I'm not here at Squidoo, I like creating pretty things with glass and silver.
