Handmade Cards in Unique designs and Prints to Frame

In this lens I am displaying one range of my cards and prints which are available to purchase on eBid.net.

This is a constantly growing range which we hope will appeal to all ages and tastes.
All cards are approximately A5 in size although they vary slightly depending on the design.

As many of the cards are hand finished by the artist, every card within one design will vary slightly and each can therefore be regarded as unique. Every card is finished to order.

Each card is blank inside for your own message or we can add a message for you for a small additional charge.
Every card comes with a lavender coloured, self-seal envelope, ready for you to send and your cards are send to you in a board backed envelope for protection in the mail.

I ship Worldwide by first class mail (domestic) or Airmail (international). If ordering from outwith the UK please allow at least 3 weeks for delivery, transit times can vary depending on the destination.

I hope you enjoy what we have to offer and generous discounts in shipping charges are available for multiple purchases.

If you want a card designed for you we can usually do this but please remember to allow plenty of time if you want it for a special occasion.

Currently the full range can be found on eBid international auction site.

The card shown here is Tyger Tyger, a hand finished card, signed by the artist and highlighted with metallic inks. I have been told the eyes follow you.

I love Squidoo lenses. I think they're a great way not only to advertise your wares but also to give readers a deeper insight into what goes into creating everything I do.

Cards for every occasion, Birthday, Seasonal, Thank You, Christmas and every day uses.

Cards and Prints from the Scottish Highlands

I have been designing for more years than I care to remember and the cards you see here are the result of my work over those years.

Also displayed with my range are designs by my favourite artist Raven, whose style and use of colour is rather different from mine and offers a wider choice for the buyer.

It will take me some time to write up all the information and include all the photographs as I want to give you an in depth feel for how these designs have come about, so keep visiting to see the info grow :-)

Every card is presented with a lavender coloured self-seal envelope ready for you to send. Cards are delivered to you in a board backed envelope to protect them from damage in transit.

Prints for Framing - a Christmas or Birthday gift perhaps ...

Any of the card designs can be produced as an A4 print for framing, all you have to do is ask :-)

Prints start at 1.49 GBP for Children's Colouring designs, full colour A4 prints start at 2.99 GBP.

Some of the designs are also available in A3 size, please ask for further details.

Commission a special card

Commissions considered.

If you would like a greeting card designed for you or for a special occasion please allow at least six weeks for design and delivery in the UK. Outside of the UK please remember that shipping can take up to 3 weeks at busy times.

Home Sweet Home ... the card

This is Home Sweet Home.

Keep watching this space for more information on this and other new cards :-)

Home Sweet Home

This is the original work nearing completion and almost ready to be included in my list of cards.

The design was first conceived as a whitework embroidery pattern, each detail being picked out in a variety of stitches to add texture to the work.

The finished product is above :-)

New designs on eBid.net

This is a range of designs I put up initially in the Summer 2007 in a competition to name them, which was run as part of the SS2BM online promotion.

Representing The Elements, these are all hand finished and signed by the artist.

All cards are supplied with envelopes, ready for you to send, and are shipped in board backed envelopes to protect them in transit.

These cards are now available on ebid.net

Thank You Card

A design based on a Japanese embroidered representation of roses.

I thought it very appropriate for a Thank You card.

Like many of the other cards produced by 0ctavias0fferings, this card is hand finished with metallic inks and signed.

Cards from Scotland

... this one inspired by a scene on a standing stone.

Inspired by a piece on a fragment of ancient standing stone in the north of Scotland.

I've found the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh is a wonderful place for gathering ideas although I really only get a chance to visit there a couple of times a year. I'm hoping to get back there within the next couple of months, perhaps I'll find myself inspired again.

Hand finished and signed by the artist.

Garden Cats and Let Me In

... two cards in my cat series.

These cards are both hand finished with metallic gel ink and signed.

I don't keep a stock of cards, each is printed and finished as orders are received and therefore each is slightly different from any other card made in the same design.

On the whole the colours tend to be a little brighter and stronger than they appear in the photographs. Unfortunately the flash photography tends to slightly bleach the colours.

Ginger Fishing

Another in the series of cat cards.

I was asked specifically to design a card with a ginger cat and this was the result.

I think the individual for whom it was designed was pleased pleased with the result.

Hand finished with metallic inks and signed by the artist.

Tomorrow's Child

... also available as a children's colouring card.

Around this card there is a simple but thought provoking phrase.

Tomorrow is the child of today, born from the seed of yesterday.

It is available as a ready to send, blank inside for your own message, or a children's colouring card. The latter is available at the price of 0.45 GBP.

I have a series of cards featuring this style of child, all are inspired by my own chldren. More examples will be added in the next few days.

This card is hand finished with metallic inks and signed by the artist.

Frog's Pond

Poor old frog has his eye on that fly but can never catch it.

Another card which is finished in metallic inks.

The card is signed by the artist who created it and, as with all other cards, is blank inside for your own message.

The Watergirl

This card is based on a photograph taken of one of my daughters.

The original photo was taken against a hazy sunset at the end of a beautiful Summer's day beside the Loch.

Hand finished and signed

Sails in Moonlight

This is one of a pair of cards, based on an old Chinese cut paper design I found over 25 years ago.

Hand finished with metallic inks and signed by the artist.

The pair to it is in the module following this one.

Please remember, all card designs are available as A4 prints - although the size of the image within the A4 sheet will vary according to the design.

For more information please contact me through Squidoo or one of the sites on which I sell.

Sunset Sails

And here is the pair to Sails in Moonlight, based, again, on the old Chinese cut paper design I found.

I love the cut paper designs from China. They are usually produced in very fine paper and are red, this being the lucky colour, and are used to decorate homes for special occasions and holiday festivals, often decorating windows in homes.

Hand finished with metallic inks and signed by the artist.

More information on Chinese cut paper designs.

Purple Dragon

A striking dragon design.

Based on a cut paper design, hand finished with metallic ink highlights and signed.

See the module below for the other colours available.

Three more dragons, Blue, Green and Red

The Smoke Dragon - Green

This card will soon be available on eBid.net.

I have a thing about dragons, this one started life as a doodle and just developed a character of his own. There will be a partner card to this but I haven't finished it yet :-)

This card is hand finished with metallic inks and signed.

He will also be made available as a children's colouring card.

A pair of cards for Christmas

I've always found designing for Christmas a rather difficult thing but I realise many folks want something a little different at Christmas time.

You won't find 'Merry Christmas' printed on any of my cards but we can add a 'Season's Greetings' or similar message if you would like us to or you can personalise the card yourself.

Winter Peace

Winter Signs

There is a small additional charge to add a message to any card.

Mother Love

Above are some of a range of cards I am producing which are suitable for various occasions and, being blank inside, can have any message you like included within or on the front.

Scarab

The Scarab, one of the newer cards in my range.

The first time I used this scarab design was nearly forty years ago - shock horror, where does all that time go LOL

A card inspired by Egyptian tomb heiroglyphs.

Scarab is hand finished in metallic inks and signed by the artist.

The Eagles

Here we have the Eagles.

First, Regal Eagle with his beautiful purple and gold.

Below is Blue Eagle.

Both are hand finished and signed by the artist.

If you would like to see a different colour, I can always see what I can do.

Blue Notes

The original design was on a stash tin lid for a music lover. My visualisation of a musical piece.

I've recycled quite a few designs which were not first imagined as cards but as most of them were formulated to fit the same basic shape as these A5 cards, I feel they work just as well in this form.

This card is hand finished and signed.

Hearts and Flowers series.

To the left we have Red Heart, to the right Blue Heart and below, Dark Heart. These three make up the current series of Hearts and Flowers cards.

Like many other cards, these are hand finished and signed.

Available on eBid.net or you can contact me direct.

Celtic Knot

I like to be able to broaden the choice of shoppers by offering different colourways in cards and have done this with a number of designs in my range of cards.

The Celtic Knot cross lends itself well to a variety of colour combinations.

All are hand finished with metallic inks and signed by the artist.

Poetry cards may not be to everyone's taste but can help to express a sentiment.

Would you like a poetry card made up for your Valentine?

Contact us for price and options.

Whisper - a poetry card.

Hand finished and signed by the creator of the card, this is Whisper.

All cards are blank inside for your own message.

The verse on the front reads ...

I whisper your name
in Indian clouds to the sky.

Showers of satin light
wash moonwards.

The stars answer me
distant through my senses
echoing
and your arms close.

Night cocoons me
gently.

Dream

The poem on this card is printed in full at the top of my Poetry is a Performance Art lens.

Available as an A4 print, hand finished and signed by the artist / poet, the print has slightly different dimensions to the card.

As a card, this is also hand finished and signed by the artist.

Oh The Changes - a Poetry Card

The verse reads ...

Oh! The changes.
Strange how Nature re-arranges
all our lives on Love, a whim,
such bright attractions soon grow dim,
as we all know,
but still we follow Nature's flow,
still seeking an Eternal Truth
that in a state of Love lies Youth
and Youth is Beauty, now, my Lover,
make me Beautiful,
forever.

Purrfect Memories

This card was created as a commission for one person but, as with all my commissions, copies are now available for anyone who wishes to buy.

Hand finished in metallic inks and supplied with lavender coloured self-seal envelope.

Got any ideas?

We are always looking for new ideas for cards and welcome suggestions.

Have you ever found it difficult to obtain the perfect card for someone? Let us know what you're looking for and one of our artists might just surprise you :-)

Would you like a card designed for a special occasion?

If you are interested in having a card designed for a special someone or for a particular occasion you are welcome to contact us to discuss your requirements.

Rates charged will vary, depending on whether you will require a verse or additional message included on the card.

The majority of cards specifically designed for individuals are subsequently put into general production but it is possible to have an exclusive design if you don't want to share with the rest of the World.

If it's for a particular occasion or event then please allow at least six weeks for the design to be finalised and delivered to you.
