The return of three hits - Grey's Anatomy, Lost and Ugly Betty - to ABC's Thursday night lineup has made scheduling a bit tricky for the network.

Especially regarding the season finales of each.

The network's original plan was for the two-part Lost finale to air over two nights, and have all three shows end on the same evening, May 22.

However, sources confirm that the Lost finale has been rescheduled, making room for a two-hour Grey's Anatomy season finale.

Grey's Anatomy Catchphrases

Now you too can speak like the doctors at Seattle Grace...from wikipedia.com

A trend began of "McLabeling" characters or adding "Mc" to other terms
1. McDreamy: the first of this trend is a nickname given to Derek Shepherd by Cristina Yang
2. McMarried: said by George O'Malley after Meredith Grey finds out that McDreamy is married
3. McSteamy: Mark Sloan is given this nickname by the female interns. Before picking the name, the female interns were thinking about using McSexy and McYummy. This idea may have come from the episode "Into You Like a Train" when a nurse, Tyler, tells Meredith "McSteamy" came looking for her. He was mistaken for McDreamy.
4. McHot: Addison Shepherd is given this nickname by Alex Karev
5. McYeah: George agrees with Alex when he calls Addison McHot
6. McDog: the dog shared by McDreamy and Meredith
7. McLife: according to Meredith, after getting her McDreamy and McDog, Addison now has Meredith's "McLife"
8. McVet: given to veterinarian Finn Dandridge
9. McVomit: something George says he is holding back as female interns discuss other McNicknames
10. McGuilty: Cristina calls Derek this for having sex with Meredith and then asking her what their encounter meant.
11. McBaby: Cristina says this to Meredith while she's getting examined, because of her suspected pregnancy symptoms.
12: McFricking Cone of Silence
13: McDreamy was doing the McNasty with McHottie? That McBastard!

Euphemisms for female genitalia or other sexually related terms
1. Va-jay-jay: Dr. Bailey's euphemism for vagina
2. My good girl: A supporting character called her genitalia "my good girl" in the episode Damage Case.
3. V-card: Chief Webber's wife Adele (Loretta Devine) used the phrase "cashing in her V-card" to describe her niece losing her virginity in the second-season finale.

The characters often say "seriously," usually at the end of a sentence, as a question or as a pronouncement.
Creator Shonda Rhimes explains that one of the writers used the saying all the time and it spread to the writing staff, and eventually, to the dialogue.

Whatever...
Meredith often uses well-known phrases but trails off at the end and replaces the last word with "whatever": "There's too much water under the thing or whatever", "You are not my knight in shining whatever", and "I had a near-death whatever".

Spoilers! Read at your own risk

from spoilerfix.com and greysanatomynews.com

03/30 - "When we come back, we'll have leapt ahead five or six weeks in time," creator Shonda Rhimes says. "It's our way of acknowledging the bump caused by the strike. But it'll be very clear from the first moment what has transpired. You'll see where things stand with Derek and Meredith and Rose. You'll see where George is living, and in the first episode all the residents will be involved in a high-stakes surgical contest -- definitely not something the chief would condone." Old relationships will become new again, some people you thought would never get together will, and there are going to be some interesting outside influences," Rhimes promises. George and Izzie have "put it to bed for the night. They've left it at the idea that it's not necessarily about the bad sex as it is the bad timing. What will be interesting to see it that after that intimate explosion of events, whether they can just be friends."

03/30 - Addison will pop up at Seattle Grace to perform surgeries that only she can do and "discover whether you can ever really go home," Rhimes says.

03/30 - Pretty boy plastic surgeon Mark "McSteamy" Sloan will continue his pursuit of the hard-to-impress Dr. Hahn. "The way that is going to play out will be surprising to everyone," Rhimes says. "Mark Sloan is not used to not getting what he wants." "I am pretty dedicated to the idea that [Meredith and Derek] are to be together for good this season," Rhimes says. "What's going to be interesting is how she gets her act together, and how they decided that this is it." Are those wedding bells we hear?! "I did not say there is going to be a wedding," Rhimes says. "Or a ring. Although I did not say there wasn't going to be a ring."

All About Grey's Anatomy

from about.com

Premiered: March 27, 2005

When is it on?: Thursday nights at 9pm ET on ABC (Check local listings)

Synopsis: Meet Meredith Grey ( Ellen Pompeo). She's a woman trying to lead a real life while doing a job that makes having a real life impossible. Meredith is a first year surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital, the toughest surgical residency program west of Harvard. She and fellow first-year interns Cristina Yang ( Sandra Oh), Izzie Stevens ( Katherine Heigl), George O'Malley ( T.R. Knight) and Alex Karev were students yesterday. Today they're doctors and, in a world where on the job training can be a matter of life and death, they're all juggling the ups and downs of their own personal lives.

Isobel "Izzie" Stevens, the small-town girl who paid for medical school by modeling in her underwear, battles for respect amongst her peers. George O'Malley is the warm but insecure boy next door who always manages to do or say the wrong thing - even in the O.R. Worse, in spite of his obvious attraction to Meredith, he's treated as "just one of the girls."

Miranda Bailey, the senior resident responsible for training the interns, masks her softer side with a demeanor so tough that she's the nicknamed "The Nazi."

Derek Shepherd ( Patrick Dempsey) is the flirtatious but wildly talented surgeon. Meredith thought he was her soul mate when the two began a forbidden sexual relationship - but now that the wife Meredith never knew he had arrives, she's not so sure. Preston Burke's ( Isaiah Washington) arrogance is second only to his skill with a scalpel. He meets his match in Cristina when they begin a less romantic but equally forbidden relationship of their own .

Overseeing them all is Dr. Richard Webber, Seattle Grace's paternal but no-nonsense chief of surgery who harbors some secrets of his own concerning Meredith's mother.

Grey's Anatomy Trivia

from IMDb and other various places

  • Some exterior shots of "Seattle Grace Hospital" were filmed at Fisher Plaza, the home of KOMO 4, the local ABC affiliate. In the pilot episode when the patient is flown in via helicopter, you can see the KOMO 4 logo on the side of the building and their 10+ satellite dishes on the roof.
  • All Season 1 and 2 episode titles except for "The Self Destruct Button" are titles of popular songs.
  • The show's title is a reference to the famous anatomy book "Gray's Anatomy of the Human Body" by Henry Gray.
  • In Episode 4: "No Man's Land" when Izzie has to rip off her clothes in the locker room scene, Katherine Heigl said, "If I have to take off all my clothes, then some of the crew should have to take off their clothes." The episode's director, the director of photography, and the show's producer all stripped down to their skivvies.
  • The interns complain they work 100-hours a week when regulations governing residency programs only allow 80-hour weeks for all residents/interns and theycannot work more than 24-hours straight, even though in the pilot, they were working 48-hours.
  • 'Cricket' is one of Izzie's nicknames
  • The show was originally supposed to be called "Complications".
  • Kate Walsh's character, Addison Shepard, was only supposed to appear in 5 episodes, but quickly developed a fan base so they kept her on.
  • Meredith went to Dartmouth College. Christina went to Stanford University
  • Patrick Dempsey auditioned for the role of Dr. Chase on FOX's prime time medical mystery show, "House" , before taking the role of Dr. Shepherd.
  • The character Alex Karev was not in the original pilot script; his role was inserted into the pilot as an afterthought in order to provide a foil, as well as male companionship for Dr. George O'Malley. Since he wasn't added until after the pilot was shot, scenes with him were either re-shoots or digitally altered.
  • The Inuit doll that frequently appears in episodes is named Ipecac. Ipecac is featured in an Easter Egg in the Season One DVD Bonus Features, where the cast and crew discuss the doll, its name, origins and a plot to kidnap it.
  • Dr. Meredith Grey lives on 613 Harper Lane.
