General Radiotelephone Operator License

The FCC GROL exam is a selection of 100 multiple choice questions from a bank of around 1,000 possible questions - a daunting prospect to learn so many answers!

The GROL is one of the most sought-after commercial licenses. You must hold one in order to operate a maritime land radio station or ship radio telephone station over 1500 watts of peak envelope power or ship and aeronautical stations with more than 1000 watts of peak envelope power.
