Tips on Grooming Yorkshire Terriers

Begin getting your yorkie puppy used to grooming as soon as he is comfortable in his new house
- Before bathing, check the coat for mats and snarls and pull apart with your fingers and a pin brush
- Be sure to get the dog's coat entirely wet with warm water before applying shampoo
- Use good quality dog shampoo and lather your dog
- Use a fine-tooth flea comb to remove accumulated mucus under the eyes
- Be sure to rinse the hair completely
- Use a good pin brush with a soft rubber back to brush after washing
- Finish your grooming by combing the coat with a metal comb with long teeth
- If needed, trim the hair under the pads of the feet and the top of the ears
