How to Bathe and Dry Your Puppy
When keeping your Labrador clean it can be easy. Find a simple spot to wash your companion. If they are still a puppy then you can fit them in your kitchen sink. If they are too big for the kitchen sink than put them in your bathtub. You don't want to give them a bath outside because your yard will get muddy from the hose and it will just keep them dirty.Once you found where you want to bathe them, fill the sink/tub with warm water. Use a large cup to get them wet and rub your hands through their fur to make sure it gets completely wet. Labrador fur is made to repel water so rubbing your fingers through their fur will thoroughly soak them. You can use your shampoo or a special dog shampoo to wash them. Pour it into your hands and rub them together to lather them. Apply the shampoo to the fur, again running your fingers through it making sure you get the skin. Cover the whole body with shampoo. Get a little wash cloth and put some water from the tub on it to get their bum bum. Once you get their whole body, get your cup and rinse them with the warm water. Use your fingers to make sure all the shampoo is out from under their fur and continue to rinse until its all out. Make sure you drain and rinse your tub out when finished using.
Have a big towel on hand because when you are done they are going to shake their water everywhere so hold up the towel in front of you to avoid water getting all over the bathroom or you! haha Rub the towel all over their body to soak up all the water. Once you do that get out a blow dryer put it on warm and high and blow their fur so its completely dry. After your pet is fully clean, grab a dog brush and take them outside, either unto the patio or a nice shaded grass area and brush their fur to get all the excess fur out. Its good to do this outside because you don't want your bathroom covered in fur and its harder to clean up when its inside. As you do each brush stroke, use your hand and follow behind the brush strokes to help get straggle hairs off.

Clipping Your Dogs Nails

When clipping your dogs nails you want to be super careful. If your not careful, you could clip to far back into the Red Quick which is the blood in the dogs nail and make them bleed. It also hurts them to so their nail will be sore for awhile if you clip to far back. To avoid clipping the Red Quick just click half of the white tip, which is called the Casing. Get the dog nail clippers and put the nail through the hole in the clippers about halfway. Then angle the nail clippers toward you to clip. You want to have the nail even with the floor. When you let your pet out to use the restroom their nails will naturally file on the cement so you don't have to worry about that. That's all there is to clipping your labs nails.

Doggy Pedicure!

If you have a female Lab you can paint her nails or even give her some nail art! You can use your nail polish or a special doggy nail polish which I will post below. Make sure you use a nail polish that dries fast, but if you don't you can always put a piece of paper under each paw until the nails are completely dry. Hold the back feet and blow them dry. If you let go of them she will get up and walk all over the carpet in your house nail polish marks all over the floor. So just hold on to them until they are dry. Painting your dogs toe nails will have heads turning and she will be the most popular dog at the park!
