Groovy Girls Dolls ~ Celebrate Diversity

I'm looking for doll that is age appropriate and shows diversity should be celebrated. I'm looking for groovy girls dolls. My daughter will be two next month and she's really starting to get into her dolls. She's already got a few, but they all look the same. Then there's the "Bratz" dolls. OMG. No way would I buy those made up hooker looking dolls for my daughter at 2 or 10.

In my search for an age appropriate and diversity encouraging doll I found the Groovy Girls Dolls.

These dolls are awesome. Each doll is completely unique, you will never find two the same. They are friendly, normal looking little girl dolls.

They come with cute (appropriate) outfits and plenty of accessories. When I saw them they reminded me of how much everyone (of my generation) loved their cabbage patch dolls. (before they starting licking ice cream ugh)

They even come in miniature ~ which I think would be great for car trips (Hanna hates the car).

So I'm off to find some Groovy Girls Doll bargains ~ jump on the band wagon.

Showing my daughter that it is ok, in fact, excellent to be unique and a person unto herself is very important to me. I love that the Groovy Girls dolls are each unique individuals.

I particularly love when doll makers make dolls with red hair, instead of just blonde and brown. :)

I may be an old fuddy duddy of a mom, but I just can't believe some of the clothes dolls today come in!!!

I want to set a good example, in a fun way, for my daughter, about the clothes I think are acceptable and appropriate for her to wear.

I figure if I can set some boundaries now, I might have a chance when she's older.

Groovy girl dolls have cute, but appropriate, clothes, with hook and loop closures making them easily interchangeable even for little fingers.

Like I said I'm just finding these adorable and diverse groovy girls dolls. Hanna is only 2 and the recommended age is 3 to 9. Do you think a two year old is ready for Groovy Girls dolls?

    I love these dolls, too (and am making a lens on them myself, which is how I found you!) These dolls are unique and a much better choice than Bratz or Barbie. Our girls have enough troubles growing up without our adding to them by encouraging anorexia or giving them over-sexed and negative role models. I don't think that makes us fuddy duddies. It just means we love our daughters for who they are and who they can become.

    I just wanted to say that I am with you on the Bratz and I absolutly love the Groovy Girls Dolls! I have four year old twins and they love their Groovy Girls and accessories. Their favorite are their Groovy Girls horses that I found at Amazon.com. Also Target has a few things from the groovy girls line. Good luck!
