Why I would try group buying as a seller

Let me introduce myself: I'm a local US PS3 dealer selling new Playstation 3 consoles, mostly to game-addicted teenagers who make up the major part of my target audience. My average income depends on how much consoles I sell every month, and this may vary a lot. Of course when Christmas time comes I'm having more profitable times with lots of parents wishing to make unforgettable presents to their precious children.

As probably each seller I'm always interested in new ways of getting more profit and boosting sales volume to benefit my business. However I'm also always very cautious and must thoroughly weigh up all possible risks that each new business opportunity may have. Everything must be crystal clear before I make any decision. And this is why, I think, I would try the group purchase opportunity:

- Reach my target audience

Group buy is probably one of the best ways to reach my target audience because I deal with a group of those who are already willing to buy my product. What I need to do to convert them from potential buyers to real ones is to offer them the price they want or at least the best discount I can make.

- Make your word-of-mouth advertising

If people find beneficial online deals, they usually share with other peers, not only close friends and relatives. Moreover, if they become satisfied customers, they will scream: go here and buy this, it's a real fun shopping! So offer people a good discount and they will come for more and bring a crowd of new potential buyers with them.

Provided that I set up clear group buying conditions from my side, and all the issues like minimum group size, upfront payment, money transactions, shipping costs etc. are fixed, I can be sure that I don't risk anything and the whole deal is completely secure.

- Sell in bulk - increase sales volume

As a seller of PS3 consoles, I'm not usually showered with bulk buy offers. So I definitely would be happy to get at least 15 Playstation 3 group buy members who will certainly buy a console.
