A Group DiscussionIs the United States an empire like those of centuries past? Some contend that the United States has indeed entered into an era of Empire--of global hegemony. Do you agree that our own Imperial history has begun? If so, how can we avoid the fate of Athens and Brittania?

United States is not an empire. To build an empire you must have a leader who people will die for. George Bush is no leader and some might even call him a fraud.
