The main purpose of this group is to help you, the webmaster, attain more backlinks to your site from other people within your same niche or category. Add your site to a category if you're willing to share links, and find a link buddy! Be sure to mention how you can be contacted, or list whatever your terms are (if they are page rank related, or anything else). Feel free to use this group to find backlinks to your own web site, or mutual lensrolls to other Squidoo lensmasters.

Using the Backlinks Group

Below, you'll see multiple website categories. If you're looking to share free backlinks with others:

1) Add your site or lens to the list
2) Add a short description of your requirements (will you only share with people who have a Page Rank of 3? Or for only a set number of months?).
3) Let others know how to contact you, either via a contact URL, email address, or any other method (don't put information that you don't want to be public, though). Put this in the description box that you'll see right after submitting a link.

That's all! So, essentially, you're putting up your site or lens, much like a classified site, and letting others in your niche know that you're willing to share backlinks. This further associates your site (and theirs) with your website topic, helping improve your site's status in the long-run with search engines.
