Dads of Squidoo

APPROACHING FATHERHOOD WITH GOOD HUMOR

Dady lensmasters UNITE! This group includes lenses for fathers, by fathers (or their supporters), about fatherhood. The goal of this group is to provide you with a collection of quality lenses especially tailored for fathers. Add a lens to the group and pass out the chocolate cigars!

Note: Just a note on policy for adding a lens to this group. To keep the signal to noise ratio high, I'm getting more stingy in what lenses I accept. I want to this to be a FOCUSED group of lens about fatherhood and resources specifically for fathers. Because I'm changing the rules a bit, I'm not going to boot any existing lenses at this time. But going forward, I am only accepting lenses that have good content about fatherhood. Both Squidoo and the Web are TEEMING with general parenting resources. This site, in the best of Squidoo traditions will be narrowly focused on a niche topic: fatherhood. Submitted lenses are ideally focused on even more narrow niches related to fatherhood and father-specific issues, concerns, and information. A final note: please don't send a half-baked lens or one which is simply a collection of commercial modules with no original content. An exception is if you are the inventor, author, or salesperson for a product or service tailored for fathers, I would love to include your lenses, providing a detailed description. Well thought-out reviews of products or services for fathers are also welcome.

Group Discussion

Buzz about off-topic resources, comments on the group, and general gab.

Okay dads, share what's new with your lens-crafting. Did you have lens rejected? Go ahead and post a link to it here. I'm more open about what is allowed to be posted here than I am on which lenses I include in the group. Flames, offensive language, adult content, and spam will be mercilessly deleted.

I don't have time to keep this up to date. If anyone wants to take over me know.

I am a dad of two. As a new Dad, I was looking for a business idea that would allow me the flexibility to spend time with my family. Many dads today are more involved in parenting but have limited resources from a man's point of view from which to better understand the challenges of their changing role. I founded GreatDad.com.

I just created my lens and have a strong interest in supporting dads in their role as fathers. Thanks for considering adding me to the group, and I hope to make meaningful contributions.

www.fatherhood.org has the best FATHERHOOD RESOURCES I've seen so far.
They have "Daddy Packs" for new Dads.
They have guides for Deployed Dads.
They have curricula for groups of Dads.
They have curricula for Christian Dads.
They have curricula for Incarcerated Dads.

Dads, don't forget that science toys are a great way to spend times with your kids. I write about telescopes, chemistry sets and ant farms at my lens, Parent's Guide To The Best Childrens Science Toys.
