How To Find Enough Content To Write AT LEAST One Squidoo Lens a Day, Every Day!

The truth is that anyone, with the right mindset and commitment, can write at least one quality Squdioo lens per day. That doesn't mean that you will pull a Squidoo lens out of the sky every day - some may take days to prepare. However, with what's a...

60-Day Challenge is my source of inspiration to keep on creating and maintaining my lenses. I have just passed my first week. It is still very refreshing. Along the way, I have the chance to visit and see other good quality lenses produced by the participants.
Thank you for letting me know about this great challenge.

Did you know that namecheap is giving away free domains and hosting packages hourly until Christmas? You have to follow them on Twitter. Twirl will help you keep up with their tweets. Hope one of us gets some. :0)

[in reply to internet-ebooks] Wow, you're a prime candidate. You've been around long enough to be comfortable and just need the push to get going! :0)

Joined the group today and made 2 new lenses. They aren't live yet so I've submitted one of my other lenses just so I can join the group. Nice to meet/join you all!

I have to say as a newbie to Squidoo, it will probably take me quite a few days to read up on everything that goes into making a lens. I've seen quite a few with common formatting styles that I have no idea how to make. I haven't been able to get my photos uploaded so will keep trying to get on with it. If anyone can help mine is byron bay and surrounds. It needs more work but is my prototype so to speak and would appreciate comments

Because of Twitter, the jing lens I made last night got 9 visits and jumped to third in my lens list overnight!

It's so easy to get stuck using the same modules over and over. I've been playing with some of the other Squidoo modules. If you want to see what some of them actually look like on a lens, take a few minutes to visit the Exploring Squidoo Modules lens. It probably breaks all the rules of good lensmaking - change titles, add pictures, etc. No matter, the point of this one is to improve our skills so that the rest of our lenses will shine. :0)

Gandree,
I really don't know how to get the RSS to work unless you got the feed to the actual lens directory as opposed to the clicking the RSS button on your browser while you are here on the group page. I'm looking at my IE browser, and I see how I could "grab the feed" of this group URL, but it would probably only update if I actually changed the info on the page, ie. what you see in the intro at the top, etc.
I tried grabbing the feed of this page: http://www.squidoo.com/groups/60_day_challenge/lenses
However, Squidoo would not let me publish that feed in the RSS module...so I don't know what to do.
Maybe this is a good topic for a SquidU forum? What do you think?

Hey Group, Is anyone getting as confused about which lenses they have done what to as I have been?
I created a checklist to keep track of it all. I printed one for each of my lenses and now at a glance I can tell what to do next. If you are interested, there is a link to it on my Joining the 60 Day Challenge lens.(look under Time Out!)
You are all welcome to use my checklist. All I ask is that you don't promote it as your own. If it helps, give me feedback and I'll make a lens promoting it myself. :0)

Hi Ivo, I grabbed the RSS feed but it isn't coming up right now. Can you suggest a way to get to the newest lenses that have been submitted so we don't have to page through to get to them?
Rokusan wrote...
Wow, I've got 32 published lenses (and one "true" WIP, where I haven't hit publish yet ~ not just I hit publish but Squidoo hasn't recognized it yet). Many thanks to Ivo for starting this group ~ I never would have made this many lenses if I hadn't run across your challenge.
Okay, I left the rest of this message over in our group at facebook, but not everyone's there. So, a little copy/paste action....
Just today, I realized the value of the lenses that show up in the "Explore related pages" if you leave "Discovery" on yes.
I made what I think is a great lens about Wichita KS. I clicked on each of the lenses in the "Explore" section, visited, read, ranked, and commented on them... and told them where I'd run across them, so now they have info about a specific lens of mine, should they decide to go visit, rank, and leave a message.

Just read eelkat's post -- I'm wondering too, how can you make that many lenses in ONE DAY!!! I'm doing good to get TWO made in a day when I've missed a day. YIKES!! I'm behind again, and am babysitting grandbabies today/tonight, so guess tomorrow I'll try for THREE!!! Cross my fingers on that one!!!

@ athomemomblog Your 60 Day Challenge starts whenever you start! It's not running for any particular lenngth of time, so welcome!
@ eelkat OMG, how in the WORLD did you create 39 lenses in one day? Are you kidding me?
You need to create a lens on THAT!
EelKat wrote...
another lensmaster just commissioned me to make them some lenses before Sept 30. He has 11 lenses, so last night I made 39 lenses. OMG! That's the most I've ever made in one day! Now I got to get the finished so I can send them to him in time.

Is it ok to join this late in the game? I realize I`m going to have to work my butt off to get at least 50 lenses built before the Giant Squid opportunity, but I think I can do it. :)
So far I have done a renovation and a new lens each day this month. I think that`s a good start!

I've taken a holiday as well, but am pushing forward to my 60, all primarily focused around health and wellness. Fighting a migraine today, so my next lens so maybe a future topic for a lens. Not going to endure making a whole lens tonight, but wanted to check in and give some feedback to the group. Great work everybody

Hey contenders,
I have been SWAMPED lately with work and family obligations, so I'm behind on my group activity. However, I'm back on the block and will be making some updates today.
Those of us who are not yet Giant Squids have a real shot, and I'm excited about that. I've already got more than 30 lenses, and I'm not about to stop any time soon!
Keep on keeping on...

@RightWriter
It usually takes 24 hours for a lens to *go live*, but sometimes it can take 3 or 4 days. No idea why it does that. I think it's a glitch or something, cause normally it's 24 hours
