Welcome to Boomers Rock!

If you have a lens geared toward Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964), join us. There's lots here--including the Baby Boomer Lens of the Week contest--to entertain, inspire, and motivate. Enjoy.

I wish I didn't have to add this, but it pains me deeply to hit that big ole' "Reject" button for a fine lens just because its target audience is other than Boomers, so I'm settin' some ground rules. Please read 'em before you join.

Giddy Gabby's corner

1947

Chuck Yeager breaks the sound barrier. Folks on the ground hear--and feel--a sonic boom for the first time. All over the world, itty bitty Baby Boomers turn one year old.

Chuck Yeager broke that barrier, but we've been breakin' 'em ever since. Squidoo helps us knock 'em down, too, and every time one of us adds a lens about something we care passionately about, we bust a hole in another one or build a bridge.

I love reading your lenses. I hope you'll enjoy mine. Can't wait for more from y'all--keep 'em coming!

Most of us grew up on it

We were the first TV generation, and boy did we have fun sittin' in front of that little screen and watching Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, the Lone Ranger and Tonto save the world from the bad guys. What else were we watchin'?

Flicks

With a television in every home, movie makers got more and more creative, enticin' us out of our homes and to tight, cramped sticky-floored theaters where we oohed and ahhed over the special effects in Star Wars and oozed warm fuzzies watchin' the Muppet Movie.

Got somethin' to say?

Let it out!

Boomers are nothing if not assertive. Heck, we wrote that book, too. Here's your chance to ask a question and get feedback from other Boomers.

-- Got a hot tip for improving your Squidoo rank? Pass it along!
-- Want feedback on your lens? Point us to it. Don't forget to include a module there for us to post comments. It doesn't hurt to remind us to rate your lens with stars while we're there.
-- Found a great new lens you think should be in Boomers Rock!? Point us to that one too.
-- Tell us who you've added to your lensroll and why.

Gabby is definitely giddy with the endless possibilities so she'll shut up now and open her ears to what you all have to say. Let's talk!

Boomers Rock and its lenses are safe for general audiences

If you would see it on everyday TV, it's probably okay here

What's okay: Lenses containing colorful language in the context of the free-thinkers of the sixties and early seventies, but please find ways to avoid the f-word and words of similar strength

What's not okay: Pornography, nudity, an abundance of colorful language even if it meets the criteria above, vulgar language in comments on this page or in communications between lensmasters and/or public commentators
