Featured Lenses

Our favorite California travel lenses- descriptive, informative, and fun.

Here we will post the lenses that we feel best represent the area they describe. In order for your lens to be posted here it should give us some great insider information- something we won't get from the Chamber of Commerce or AAA. If your lens is just about selling stuff, forget it. We want to leave your lens knowing something we didn't know before.

Traveling in California

California may be one of the most interesting and diverse places on earth. From the cool and wet Northern Coast to the hot and dry Mohave Desert; from the heights of the Sierras and Mt. Whitney (highest in lower 48), to the depths of Death Valley (lowest point on earth)there is so much to explore and so much natural beauty.

And then there's the diversity of the people and culture. Just within LA itself you can hear just about every language on earth, a modern Babel- while 150 miles to the west you can find absolute solitude with no one to talk to except the occasional coyote or lizard.

Let's celebrate the diversity. Make a lens about your favorite places and people in California. Join our group and join the discussion. Above all, support, visit, rate each other's lenses and show the world what California (and Squidoo) are about!

Let's talk about our favorite places in California.

Tell us about your best (and worst) experiences while traveling in California. Give us those insider tips you love to share. Where are those side trips worth taking, and tourist traps to avoid? Links and shameless plugs are OK, but subject to approval.

I was born and raised in California and have traveled up and down the state. There's so much to see and do there, I don't know how one person could find all the wonderful little places to visit, even if they had a lifetime.
