Margaret Schaut's Favorites
Margaret_Schaut chose these lenses because:The David page is my favorite because I can help renew people's appreciation for the importance and RELEVANCE of this ancient statue, and the artist that sculpted him. Modern Art is wonderful (think Andy Warhol) yet we easily forget the greatness of the heritage. All art is in some way compared to the greatest of the great and gets its validity from there. So reaching the average person, in such a way as the page could even be used by teachers or homeschoolers as a teaching tool, was important to me.
The First Lens page is my favorite because I have had numerous emails about how encouraging and helpful the page has been for people who were visitors to Squidoo and then, because of the page, became lensmasters. Many people are overwhelmed by doing something new like this and it takes courage to try. So the page takes people step by step, helps them to figure it out, gives them a few really useful pointers, and we get fabulous new lensmasters out of it. I really like that, because the more brilliant and creative people we have making Squidoo pages, the more wonderful Squidoo becomes all the time.
The Ten Quick Steps to Destroy America is my favorite because, not only is it an issues page, in my estimation it is THE issue. All the freedoms that America has offered has given people the right to be creative, to be enterpreneurial, to exercise great genius in solving humanity's problems. That freedom is nearly gone, taken by people who believe more in power and in greed; in control and in their own desires, than they believe in America or her people. If America's freedom is gone, everything else we prize, every other opportunity, every other agenda, every other problem crying for a solution, is over. So let's take a look at the danger our liberty and freedom is in, take care of that problem NOW, and get back to the business of America- or lose America and forget about the rest. We'll just be like the oppressed people of communist countries, under a dictatorship. Our green revolutions, our concern for the poor, our worries about the disabled or homeless, all of them will be meaningless under a regime that cares nothing for our Constitution or our people.

How to Make Your First (or Second) Squidoo Lens
-
So you want to make a lens? Terrific! These screenshots and step-by-step instructions will let you get your first lens up in no time. I've added a few sections about common mistakes, special strategies and hints. Let me know if these things help you!
Legbamel's Fave Three
Legbamel chose:1) Find and Enjoy More Music tops the list, easily. I could update this lens every two days with a new band or music resource that I've uncovered, but if I were going to do that I'd have to commit to another blog! Picking one per month makes me really consider my choice rather than making a snap decision.
2) Best.Grammar.Ever is my second favorite, because it does exactly what I intended it to do. It helps people looking for grammar answers to find what they are looking for on my blog.
3) My sweet potato lens takes the #3 spot. I consistently get more traffic to it than I could have imagined, and it's taken over how I look at recipes. I find myself thinking, " could="could" you="you" use="use" sweet="sweet" potatoes="potatoes" in="in" would="would" i="i" make="make" it="it" that="that">

Some of DMedley's Favorite Lenses
I was once asked if I wanted Steak or Lobster, I struggled for a time with this question and then asked "Could I have Steak and Lobster?" No you must decide. How many times I went back and forth is a vague memory today, yet I remember struggling for the answer. The same feeling comes over me when asked to pick my favorite three lenses.
"How To Smoke Foods For Pleasure And Taste" because it has proven to be such a useful resource for so many people. When I first began this lens, it was mostly for my own use, a record of places to find great recipes. Since it has grown well beyond the original internt.
"How To Build A Food Smoker" was an extension lens. I began doing research for my new smokehouse and recorded my findings as I went. I knew that I would not be the only person searching for this information and time has proven me correct.
"DMedley The Lensography" is my third choice. I have selected this lens because it reveals the most about me and my interests. I actually learn something about myself by reviewing the topics and lenses within the Lensography.

#1) The Classic Old Board Games lens is one of my favorite lenses because it brings back so many great memories when we were kids about how we spent our time playing these great games and the fun they brought us.
#2) My - Water, toys, and ... Lens would have to be next in line and I will tell you why. Every summer we have all the grand kids, our kids, and many tag along others and their kids over every Friday for a day of fun in the sun. We set up the big Swimming pool water slide, and get this, Don heats the water to about 100 degrees. It is like taking a nice warm bath outside in the sun. We have a 100 foot tire swing hooked to a giant cottonwood tree in the back yard, a 18 foot round tramp, swing set, sand box, tons of toys, and more animals than one would imagine.
#3) This would have to be my Classic Old Toys lens for the same reasons as no 1.

A Spotted Trend: Polka Dots -- Another lens that was one of my original lenses, celebrating a trend that I dearly LOVE ... polka dots. Since I first created this lens 2 years ago, I've loved the proliferation of polka dots in more than just clothing and accessories.">

Robin, thanks for adding my pages! This is such a good idea. The pages that are the lensmaster favorites may be very different than we would expect, and I really had a hard time choosing. Maybe in the future I can add another three! This is a terrific opportunity to give insight to lensmasters, and help us know them better. Bravo for another great idea! You're just full of them!
