SquidAid Group Headquarters
Enabling the Squidoo Community to Use the Internet and Aid Survivors of Disaster by Making Lenses.
Generosity lies less in giving much
than in giving at the right moment.

SquidAid * Aid Survivors * Make Lenses
Building Lenses to Aid Survivors of Disasters
SquidAid and the SquidAid Group began as a response to the devastation following the California Wildfires of October 2007.SquidAid was developed for one main purpose:
The purpose of SquidAid is to use the Internet and move quickly to mobilize the virtual Squidoo Community to generate a pool of royalty resources to aid survivors of current and future disasters.
All Squidoo Lensmasters are encouraged to make new lenses or modify existing lenses and choose the royalty option as the Squidoo Charity fund. By choosing the Squidoo Charity Fund the lens will generate royalties for the Squidoo Charity Fund potentially for the life of the lens.
In doing so, we develop a pool of existing royalties that if and when the need for aid arises again, the resources and the groundwork is already set and in place to do so.
SquidAid Fire Relief Efforts - Squidoo Fire Aid
The Squidoo Fire Aid is the first recipient of SquidAid.The response for SquidAid from Headquarters and the Powers that be has already been very remarkable and generous. Megan has committed the following resources to SquidAid from the Squidoo Charity Fund:
1. A donation of $1,000 from the Charity Fund from previous months directly to the Relief Efforts for the fire victims.
2. An additional commitment to donate half of the Squidoo Charity Fund's earnings during the months of October and November to Relief Efforts for the fire victims.
Lensmasters are being encourage to create lenses that benefit the Squidoo Charity Fund during the months of November and December 2007 to generate more funds the Squidoo Fire Aid.
In addition, all monies generated from new lenses created for Save the Children or the Humane Society will continue to generate royalties for these two organizations that are supporting California Fire Survivors for the life of the lens.
Participate in SquidAid and the Squidoo Fire Aid
Become a SquidAid Responder
It is easy for lensmasters to join in SquidAid Group and become a SquidAid Responder.Pick one (or both of the options):
- 1. Make a lens that benefits the Squidoo Charity Fund for SquidAid.
2. Make a lens or two or three that benefits the Squidoo Charity Fund, Save the Children or the Humane Society for the Squidoo Fire Aid.
SquidAid generates royalties for the Squidoo Charity Fund. Half of the royalties for the months of October and November are earmarked to be donated by Squidoo to the California Fire Survivors.
The Squidoo Fire Aid Challenge generates funds for the Squidoo Charity Fund as well as for Save the Children and the Humane Society. These two organizations (which are among the Squidoo list of non profit partners) have been directly contributing to the California Wildfire Relief efforts.
