These comments are the reasons why these two lenses are not being included in the group above.

American realism goes far beyond the Ash Can school. Also your lens is not well developed having mainly commercial (poster) links and links to wikipedia. lenses accepted into the groups I run are generally much better developed and have fewer commercial links.

The quotes lens mainly relates to non-american artists (when viewed today) and the lens is not well developed. Reapply if you develop a better lens about American artists.

I'm always happy to add lenses into the group IF it compies with the criteria for entry as indicated above.

Criteria for inclusion in this group

What's in and what's not

Applications to join the group are encouraged.

Lenses which focus predominantly on the provision of information about prominent artists can be included - subject to moderation. Criteria will be refined as lens applications are reviewed. Typically the lens will include artists similar to those already included.

This group focuses on providing information rather than selling and consequently your request to join the group may be rejected if one of the following is applicable:
1) its scope falls outside the scope of this group (see above)
2) the lens does not emphasise the provision of good quality information about artists covered by this group (ie the main intent or the majority of content is non-commercial links)
3) the lens is not yet well developed - reapply when it is. This includes lens which contain mainly commercially oriented links.
4) the lens is predominantly about selling books and/or posters and prints of work by the artists included - the emphasis of this group is on accessible information
5) the lens focuses mainly on marketing the work of a contemporary artist who is not yet recognised by the art world as a famous/prominent/notable/major artist. If I don't know an artist I use the major artist database sites to check status (this does not include Wikipedia). There are other groups on Squidoo for such artists - please consult the list of groups for Arts & Literature.
6) the lens belongs to a webmaster who has done little more than tick boxes which then deliver modules which are automatically generated. There is too little evidence of personal research and/or discrimination in the information and resources provided. In other words it could have been generated by a computer! This group will only feature lenses which show some evidence of assessment of available links and information.

Feedback will be provided to all lenses which fail to get admission for reasons other than as stated above.

In addition, if I'm not sure about whether your lens fits with others in the group, I'm likely to look at other lenses you have produced to see what they say about your interests and expertise.
