Resources for Artists - The Art Business
Are you a visual fine artist who wants to sell their art and/or learn more about the business side of being artist? This site is all about the art business and resources you can find on Squidoo
The emphasis is on the provision of links to advice, information and products for artists about the business of being a fine artist.
It's not about 'how to draw' or 'how to paint' - however it is focused on people who draw and paint and are involved with the visual fine arts rather than crafts people or commercial artists.
Applications to join the group are encouraged. Read the first module below to find out more about the type of lens which is accepted into this group and how it works. Read the section at the end for the reasons why an application to join will be rejected.

- Yet another excellent resource and thank you for including me. I may have a couple more which would fit nicely here.

A Lensography of all my art fair and art business lenses. Most won't work for this application but it would make for easier search.

Joining this Group: what you need to know and why lenses get rejected
Please read before submitting a request to join
This group is about the business side of being a fine artist. Applications to join the group are encouraged.
Why applications to join are rejected
Your request to join the group may be rejected if one of the following is applicable:
1) its scope falls outside the scope of this group (see above). The group is about the business side of fine art. It's not about illustration, commercial art, tattoo parlours or crafts per se etc. (You can always start a group for your own area of interest).
2) the lens does not emphasise the provision of good quality information about the fields of interest covered by this group - which is the business side of fine art (e.g. the majority of content in an acceptable lens are non-commercial links)
3) the lens is not yet well developed - reapply when it is. This includes lens which contain mainly commercially oriented links AND/OR the lens mainly comprises lists which are the results of google searches or RSS feeds (ie there is very little, if any. original input by the lens owner).
4) the lens focuses mainly on the work of an individual artist or artists. The lens is about the business side of fine art but it is not about promoting individual artists per se.
5) the lens contains no or few references which makes it relevant to the visual arts. A generic topic has to be tailor made to the business of visual fine art to be acceptable.
6 ) You failed to read any of this section. The only people I ever write too are those who missed 'by a bit' as opposed to 'by a mile'.
In addition, if I'm not sure about whether your lens fits with others in the group, I'm likely to look at other lenses you have produced to see what they say about your interests and expertise.
