Lyme Disease can cause arthritic symptoms--and if not treated (or diagnosed properly) can result in meningitis and worse issues. There's so much doctors still don't know about arthritis and its many forms.

I submitted my Squidoo on Gout (http://www.squidoo.com/hyperuricemia because it is considered to be a type of arthritis by many Drs. Although on Allopurinol, I'm trying to *fix* and *adjust* my eating habits. More veggies, less meat. More water. Less soda. We'll see how it works. Painful otherwise.

genglo, I agree with your concern. Anyone who has arthritis needs to treat it under their doctor's care. Although I allow all lenses relating to arthritis in this group, I am selective about which ones get featured.

I'm concerned by some of the arthritis related lenses out there. As someone who has lived with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 10 years, I really hate to see people prey on people in pain by trying to sell them snake oil in order to make a profit.
