AUTHORS @
SQUIDOO
This group is for authors and those who love them (or who put up with them despite their occasionally crazy-making ways). If you've created a lens that focuses on books or book publishing or what it takes to have a happy and successful career as an author, this is the group for you. Author bio lenses are also welcome -- either those created by individual authors themselves or by others who enjoy that author's work.
Author! Author!
WELCOME TO THE AUTHORS GROUP @ SQUIDOO! Whether you're an author yourself or you've always been fascinated with the writing life or the end by-product of the writing life (books!), we're happy to have you on board. If you've created a lens that focuses on books or book publishing or what it takes to have a successful career as an author or the life of a particular author, I hope you'll add it to this group. I also hope you'll become an active member of this group -- swapping tips and advice about the writing life and creating lenses that will be helpful to authors at all stages of their careers.

How do you keep your lenses fresh? How do you find time to "Squidoo" and write and do all the things that you have to do that don't involve having your hands on a computer? Any tips to keep the rest of inspired?

Writerly inspiration
Here are some book and publishing-related links I've flagged recently at del.icio.us.
Fetching RSS feed... please stand byQuotable Authors Challenge
A way to boost traffic and have fun, too
I thought we could try to drive traffic to our individual lenses and back to the group by trying this challenge. Just dive in, if you're interested.ONE. Pick your favorite quote about writing or your favorite quote from the author you are profiling, if you have a bio lens about a particular author.
TWO. Feature the quote in a module entitled "Quotable Authors" and link to the group or another lens that is participating in the challenge or both. (If people make a point of posting their lens name and URL in the comments section below, it will be easy for people to find the lenses of people who are participating. Obviously, the lenses have to belong to this group.
THREE.Wait for the Squidoo servers to start smoking with all the added traffic. I'll get things started with an author quote from Judy Blume at my lens Be a Happy and Successful Author. You'll find the "Quotable Authors" module at the bottom of my lens, right above my guestbook.

What a cool group! I'm a book junkie and I also do internet marketing for an author as a sideline business. It's like a dream to read and network with authors and readers for a living!! Posted September 03, 2008 |

I'm a writer but, I'm not sure of how to get my writing out there for the world to see. So far, I am putting some of it on squidoo. http://www.squidoo.com/imagineering_writing Posted July 31, 2008 |
