Do you wake up in the morning thinking about bonsai? Have you thought about naming your bonsai? Do you postpone vacations because you don't have someone to take care of your bonsai? If you love bonsai, as do I, then come on in.

Bonsai is a very old art element of cultures of Asia. New in America perhaps came here with immigrants. Love your topic. Congrads on reaching Squidoo level 55. Going for 56 now. Will visit with you again soon. Thanks.

What's Your Favorite Mix?
Soil - that is.
Intricate Art and Beauty of Bonsai
I buy the standard bonsai soil mix (sand, peat, loam) from the local nursery. For some plants I add extra sand for quicker drain. I've ordered some akadama (from eBay seller, of course) and anxiously waiting to try mixing that with my mix from the nursery.

- Its sounds to me like bonsai are a very healthy addiction and I think your thought of naming them is so sweet, they are with you for so many years that it just seems right....I wonder what they call you!

- You have some amazing, beautiful photos. I would love to try growing a Bonsai. I have to admit, though, the thought of it intimidates me somewhat. Maybe I'll give it a try.

- What a great niche you have in Bonsai trees! I don't have a bonsai, but would like to suggest Forrest Gump as a name for one -:) Not sure how you'd trim it- perhaps like a chocolate?
