The Squidoo Book Club
For readers, writers and anyone who loves a good book.
NEWS FLASH
You can help! You can simply explore the lenses at Room to Read - Harry Potter. If you decide to buy something you'll be supporting a great charity.
Lensmasters can help by setting your lens(es) to donate all or part of the proceeds to Room to Read and then joining the group. Please include a module that discusses your participation in the fundraiser and points to Room to Read and the group.
Note: The lens does NOT need to be about Harry Potter and it does NOT have to be new.
Our goal is to raise $10,000.

I am new to the site but I read a great book that is going to be turned into a movie its "Ophiuchus: Last Days of 2012" written by David L. Powell III centers on the title character in her effort to create a measure of chaos for "the righteous." Incorporating a conception of spiritual faith, the narrative explores relatively complex notions of loyalty, power, and belief. The author's portrayal also take into account an understanding of certain contemporary political and social conditions to implicitly consider the way the twenty-first century may unfold. With elements of suspense and emotion, this story is designed to capture the imagination as well as enlighten and provoke thought. Not only is it entertaining to read great books, but it is also fun to actually *meet* or work with the authors! I used to work with Keven J. Anderson--and in his science fiction, where we used to work is the setting of his novels. I've met Barry Eisler--I share his passions of Japan and the martial arts (we even spoke together in Japanese!). And, I'm a member of a writer's critique group and helped to edit Rich Paloma's two police novels. It would be fun to meet and visit with James Rollins, Tony Hillerman, Michael Crichton, and J.A. Jance.... I like their books--and it would be enlightening to hang out with them for a day to better understand where they get their ideas.
