Mazatlan, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, is a great destination for beach vacations. The beach is great, with lots of variety (for surfing vs. kids playing in the water, for example), and the town has lots of activities, but still maintains an authentic Mexican atmosphere - not pure tourist trap stuff! :)
