Towards Global Equality
and Celebration of Difference
Gender, Race, Disability, Religion, Sexuality and Age.
The first three of these already have commissions in existence, the second trio are all new areas of regulation that are now being implemented. The opportunity with this commission is to regularise the legislation and ensure equal treatment in all area of discrimination.
Driving this change are European regulations that are now being implemented throughout the European Union and in the US similar legislation already exists or is in the process of being implemented.
The purpose of this groups is to bring together all lenses and lensmasters with an interest in addressing issues of equality and diversity, to share experiences and to encourage others to join us and explore every aspect of the subject. I would like this group to become a starting point for anyone, anywhere in the world with an interest in promoting equality and celebrating difference.

Meet the Groupmaster
I'm Rikki a trans women living in the wonderful city of Kingston upon Hull in Yorkshire, UK.
Hull is a very self contained city which, after a long history of just a small ethnic community. has in the past few years as a result of global challenges, experienced a significant increase in immigration and with it some difficult community tensions.
Coming out as a transgender meant that I suddenly experienced life as part of not one but two discriminated minorities - as a woman and as a trans person. As a result I have become very active in equality and diversity issues in the city and beyond and sit on a number of city and university diversity committees and panels.
