Dropshipping or Wholesale Dropshipping is similar to affiliate marketing, in the sense that you are promoting products and earning a commission for each unit sold. The main difference is that with dropshipping, you're forming somewhat of a relationship with the seller, of whom is usually a manufacturer or distributor with a warehouse of inventory.

With dropshipping, you'll have to find an individual 'partner,' of whom will give you access to their inventory (this is usually given to you as an RSS feed or database). These products can be listed on a website, or can be sold as individual units on auction sites like eBay.
