Classic Ferraris (i.e. Any Ferrari)

Enzo Ferrari, who founded the sports car company, Ferrari S.p.A. (now based in Maranello, Italy) was employed by Alfa Romeo where he formed the Scuderia Ferrari racing team. When Alfa Romeo was confiscated by Mussolini during World War II to help the war effort the Ferrari team became independent and has had motor racing success ever since. Initially Ferrari was supposed to be just about racing, but very expensive road-going cars were sold to help fund the racing team. These and the cars that followed were some of the best sporting cars ever made. Later a new marque called Dino, named after Ferrari's son who died, was to be an "affordable" range of sports cars, with smaller V6 and V8 engines instead of the V12 of the more expensive cars.
