Great Gardens of the World

Whether you're planning to visit a great garden soon or just want to pay a virtual visit to get some ideas for the design of your garden, this group contains links to some great gardens.

This Squidoo Group is for hand-made lenses which focus on providing information about great gardens.

To be included:
* a garden can be anywhere in the world BUT it must be GREAT and referenced in a directory about great gardens around the world or in history
* the lens needs to be HAND-BUILT by somebody with a degree of expertise in finding information about Great Gardens

The picture is of the Water Lily House at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew.

Travels with a Sketchbook

When I travel, I sketch. When I sketch on my travels I record it here. Plus information about the history and facilities of places I visit and lots of related links for those who want to know more

I have two great passions - sketching and gardens - and I sketch gardens a lot. See posts on my sketching blog about sketching gardens in general and Kew Gardens in particular

To join this group - what you need to know

Please read this before suggesting your lens should be added

This group is all about gardens. Specifically it's about providing useful information for people who'd like to know more about the great gardens of the world or maybe even visit them.

Lens listed here may provide links to commercial products - but only in moderation and only if completely relevant to garden(s) and the lens in question.

This group is NOT about gardening or flowers or plants or your back garden or garden gnomes who are cute or who sell T shirts, mugs or gadgets from Amazon or for me to be amazed at how many commercial links can be squeezed into one lens!

Please submit your lens if you think it might fit. However, your request to join the group may be rejected if one of the following is applicable:
1) the garden is not listed in major directories of good gardens (in other words I'm letting the experts decide what is a great garden)
2) the lens does not have a major emphasis on the provision of good quality information about a garden or gardens which fall within the scope of this group (see above)
3) the lens is not yet well developed - reapply when it is
4) the lens has not been hand-built by somebody who demonstrates some knowledge of their subject or willingness to do more than create automated lens content
5) the lens appears to exist mainly to promote the lens owner's commercial interests products
6) the lens focuses mainly on selling things or commercial links which may or may not be related to the lens topic.
