Aspects of the Divine Feminine through the Ages

Welcome to our group page where we feature all aspects of the goddess.

In this collection you can find perspectives from different cultures and different eras on goddess spirituality, and on the sacred feminine through the ages.

Associated with the earth, the moon, and fertility, the goddess is usually described as an energy force inside every living and nonliving thing.

The earliest evidence of human esoteric thought is found in female statuary. The "God Force" dates to 3,000 BCE. The "Goddess Force" dates to 30,000 BCE, which is why many say

"My Goddess gave birth to your God."

The Mother Returns

The Mother represents the creative force in the world.

The Goddess gradually retreated into the depths of forests or onto mountaintops, where she remains to this day in beliefs and fairy stories.

Human alienation from the vital roots of earthly life ensued, the results of which are clear in our contemporary society.

But the cycles never stop turning, and now we find the Goddess re-emerging from the forests and mountains, bringing us hope for the future, returning us to our most ancient human roots.

Groupwork = Teamwork

Group Members are encouraged to visit the other lenses in the group.

When your lens is accepted, pop over and say hello to a couple of other members. This is a very special group and we should be supporting each other. Say 'hello' to a sister today!

If everyone visits and comments on just two other lenses in this group, our group is raised higher in search, we attract the higher quality lenses and we all bask in the glory.

(At any rate, it boosts our group and that's glorious enough).

It will take you 10 minutes maximum and, in this way, we all benefit.

P.S. Commercialism is so danged funny sometimes, we gotta laugh because otherwise we'd weep. I stopped by one of the lenses in the group and got a banner ad for an Equinox cellular phone! Le sigh. :)

Samhain -- my cat -- says hi. ;)
